I am sure you hate seeing that particular title but here we go again.

I have FFmpeg installed on my server which is at Hostgator. They installed it for me but there is no support from them other than the installation.

I want to use EasySocial but am having trouble getting Video's and Audio to process. I receive the error "null%".

Obviously I have entered the path to ffmpeg as /usr/bin/ffmpeg but it doesn't work.

My server returns the answer (ffmpeg: /usr/bin/ffmpeg /usr/share/ffmpeg /usr/share/man/man1/ffmpeg.1.gz) when I ask "whereis".

I really need this component to work but recognize my lack of experience in this area and need help.

What can you do for me other than reload my pistol. I have tried shooting myself in the head but I keep missing.
Hey Paul,

No worries, we'll try to troubleshoot the issue that you are having on your site. Is it possible for you to provide us with the FTP access to the site as well so that we can debug on the site directly?

Hey there,

I noticed that PHP's passthru function has been disabled on your site as shown in the screenshot. https://take.ms/hL9LQ

For your information, PHP's passthru function is required for video encoding to work.

Can you consult with your web hosting to remove the passthru function from the disable_functions and try again?

I understand that enabling the passthru function is a security risk? What say you?

Hey there,

The reason that passthru is required is because it allows PHP scripts to interact with command line script. So that ffmpeg is able to be executed and run to compress the uploaded videos.

If not, the uploaded videos are unable to be encoded.
