Hi,

I'm sure I'm making some silly error somewhere, but the character count on the featured slider on the front page never seems to go above 238 characters.

I have set the character limit to 5000 in Layout -> Listings -> Featured but no actual change on the front page is happening.

Anyway, I must be changing the wrong variable... Where should I change the character limit? Right now it has a large white space below the text (since the image is quite tall) and it looks less than nice.

Thanks.
Hey A L,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

By the way, please remember to assign your domain to your license to obtain for support in the future. You can do so by accessing your license area at http://stackideas.com/dashboard

Access details attached. The license will be attached the minute we move the site off the development server to the live URL.

Try set it from this `Easyblog (Post) frontpage` menu item -> http://replaceToYourSiteName.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_menus&view=item&layout=edit&id=218

Hi. That helped a little bit, but it seems I can not set anything higher than 738 characters. I need it to be longer - maybe 1000 or 1250 characters. How do I do that?

Even if I put 5000 in the box, I'm limited to 738 character output on the front page... How to fix it?

Hi,

I figured it out. I had to set the "administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=settings&layout=layout&active=truncation" -> "Maximum Characters" to a high number, then set a number lower in the menu item setting. Then I get the correct character count.

Such a roundabout way to control a simple thing as a slider...

Thanks for your help though.

Hey AL,

Hm, I really have no idea what issues are you facing but it really doesn't have to be that complex at all.

If you have set the settings in the menu, the slider should inherit the settings from the menu. If it doesn't, then most likely it is a bug and we will need the access to the site to identify the issue.

If the menu settings is configured to inherit from the settings, then it should inherit from the Truncation settings at the back end of EasyBlog
