I tested this in my local instance and its working fine(https://take.ms/OwyVz).

I have checked the path where your favicon.ico is and it appears that you are still using the default favicon().
JoomlaFolder/templates/your_template/favicon.ico

I have helped you replace that file(renamed the old one) with your desired favicon and it should now show properly on all pages that uses that template: https://take.ms/CwUbGp

The site data may be cached on the browser. If that's the case, try do a hard refresh if you do not see the change in effect, or try in a different browser where the site is not loaded on before.
