Hi there,

I am about to launch a site using ES and was trying to chose a 3rd party partner to manage my subscriptions. I was wondering if I could hear some feedbacks or opinions from users who used or know the two companies or others. I can see that Stackideas prefer to use FastSpring but everyone always talks about JPayPlans. From my experience with JPayPlans I find them slow to get back to and I am not sure what their support is like (I looked at the forums and the last questions was asked more than a month ago!!!!).

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks in advance
Hello David,

I strongly urge you to wait for JPayplans or AEC We're trying to get in touch with AEC

Hello David,

Fastspring is actually a payment gateway / merchant. JPayplans is not a merchant It's a web application (for Joomla) which integrates with most merchants

I saw their payment plan and I'm fine with it. Do you think it can work instead of JPayPlan? I can see that you guys (Stackideas) use it. Would it be able to upgrade users account (profiles)??

Hello David,

Hm, I don't think Fastspring has any "integrations" with Joomla out of the box. We had to write our own integration layer to link our order system with Fastspring

Would it be complicated to get someone to integrate it with Joomla/EasySocial? or should I just be patient and wait for JPayPlan or someone else? I kinda like the idea of farming out the whole payment issue if possible as i imagine having it in house could create a good bit of work. I know it is a bit expensive but you guys are happy with it so it must be ok.

What do you think? (I know it is just your opinion but I would love to hear it if that is ok)

Hi Mark and David,

You must have taken this discussion offline or at PM. I would be very interesting in seeing your feedback to David's reply; David Judah on Thursday, October 31 2013, 12:45 AM #

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Finn

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

So this is the answer
I strongly urge you to wait for JPayplans or AEC We're trying to get in touch with AEC :

OK - sorry for not getting this at first hand.

I can't see that JPayplans have made any move in connection with FastSpring - do you know about any Joomla extension which integrate with FastSpring? David posted the above in Oct-13 - hopefully something have happen since.

Hello Finn,

Hm, sorry but I think I misunderstood you here and this is why we always recommend you to start a new thread. The initial thread here is more about managing subscriptions with EasySocial and I guess you are probably looking at paid subscriptions extension that integrates with Fastspring ?

You are right I am looking for a Joomla extension which can integrate FastSpring for our memberships.

The memberships extension will need to work with some kind of Joomla extension which will allow us to create and sell subscription plans, let members subscribe for these plans and give them access to restricted resources (Services, Documents, Menus, Modules, Pages...) on our web site.

We had planned to use Akeeba Subscription but as they have terminated their support for this extension we are not sure if this is the way to go.

So if you are able to point us in some directions - it would be great. I presume you are a "happy" customer of FastSpring.
