Hi,
I tried to update to the latest version, just like i always do. This time the update process took more than 15mins and then i realized that it just freezed. I couldn't do anything. Then my website became blank. So i disabled the component in order to make the website work. I need to fix this though because its a crucial function of my website.

http://www.karpasia-hp.com is the website. now the blog is disabled as i said

Thanks in advance
Hi Christina,

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?

Hey Christina,

I've tried to install easyblog on your site but it seems like I'm hitting this error, Warning: Failed to move file! . This error is caused by the permission issue of your tmp directory as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/XD5FtFq7 . Can you consult with your webhosting provider regarding on the file permission issue error and then ask them to increase the following value in php.ini to ensure smoother process during the installation of easyblog:
1) upload_max_filesize = 32M
2) post_max_size = 32M
3) memory_limit = 256M

Kindly get back to us once your webhosting already replied back to you.

Hi Christina,

Can you do a full backup of your database first before we proceed with the update? This is just a precaution steps in which must be taken before we proceed so that if anything happen during the update, we can revert back the changes.

By the way, let me clarify my understanding, you want to update EasyBlog 3.9 to EasyBlog 5 isn't? If that so, we will proceed with the update after you done backup your database.

Please advise.

Hey Christina,

I have tried to update Easyblog 5 in your site, it seems like the script hitting timeout when copying the file over your site from our server, can you consult with your Webhosting provider to help you increase this php value max_execution_time set to 300 ?

If can, can you help us extract this installer zip file from your JoomlaFolder/tmp/eb5/com_easyblog_full_community_5.0.17_joomla3.0.zip so that I can use second install from directory method and see how it goes?

Keep us updated when you have done.

Ok. This is from my web admin

I increased the value for the php max_execution_time to 300.

You can find the extracted files for the component com_easyblog_full_community_5.0.17_joomla3.0.zip to the folder JoomlaFolder/tmp/eb5-2

Hey Christina,

You're welcome.

I have adjust the post cover from your backend > Easyblog > setting > layout > post cover , can you check on your blog frontpage and see is it you prefer this? If that is not, you can adjust from that settings. Hope this helps.
