Hello,

I am testing Facebook registration and when trying I get this error in the pop-up from facebook to authorize the app:

Submit for Login Review
Some of the permissions below have not been approved for use by Facebook.
Submit for review now or learn more..

I have followed the steps in your docs.

Other question: If I still want to approve registration even though I wish to allow facebook registration, is this allowed?

Thanks!
Hello Alex,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Thanks for the heads up on this, will update the documentation on this! By the way, it's actually fine to request more information because we wouldn't know what sort of fields would you like to import over and the only way to really do this is to request the user's profile information from Facebook

Currently the only way for users to switch their profile is for the admin to relocate them. We are planning to add this functionality on 1.4 so that the user could also request to switch profiles on their own (but it's a whole lot more complicated than this because we need to consider also profile types which requires moderation)

Hello Alex,

Can you provide your backend and Facebook account access so that we can check what is wrong with it. As for the other question, yes, Easysocial allow admin approval for facebook registration.

Hello Alex,

I have just tried to access your site and tried to authenticate with my Facebook account but I don't seem to hit any errors that you have mentioned. Am I missing anything here? This is what I am seeing on the popup, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-02-14_1320.png

I believe the reason that you are seeing those message is probably because you are the owner of the app which you have created on Facebook and you did not submit the app for Review in Facebook. In order to allow users to connect to your site with their Facebook account and also automatically post status updates on Facebook, your app needs to be reviewed by Facebook first.

Hi Mark,

I think you're right about the issue being that I'm the owner of the app. One thing I find interesting is that my pop up window indicates the app

"will receive the following info: your public profile, email address, birthday and current city"

I'm not sure if that info the app is collecting is more that is allowed according to this info: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/login#post-f8-apps

When you tried the app was only asking for your public profile and email address. Should I be changing the settings?

Just tried using another facebook account and it seems to be working as you experienced. Might be worth noting this limitation somewhere in the docs.

I also have a related question - With the facebook login, the settings require the user be placed into a specific user profile. Is it possible for the user to move into a different profile type after the login, or is it something that only admin can do?

No worries Mark. From the looks of it if you want to ask more than the basic, Facebook might need to approve the app. Once I checked with a different facebook account it seems to work fine.

Regarding the Profile type swap. I did see that admins can move them over, even before I approve the user so that is a big help. In my case the added step isn't going to be a problem since the site is being set up as a pilot project with a small, limited user base. So far its looking amazing for what I need to try.

Thanks for the help!
