Hi,

I checked and see that the meta in my Joomla article is correct. However, it still shows the default meta in my Facebook post.
After I install JFBConnect, it works correctly. But I expect Metaman should work?

Hi there,

It seems like the attached screenshot is referring to site bulletstrike.com,
Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to the site to check on this issue?

Hi,

It's the same info for admin access because it uses the same db.
I added the FPT for bulletstrike.com in the first post

Hi there,

Thanks for your cooperation, I've tested the metaman without the jfbconnect (temporarily disable it), it seems the facebook was get the correct og tag that I've set in the metaman http://take.ms/RrlI9 http://take.ms/GavVc (I've re-scrape using facebook debugger tool).
Perhaps, previously there is a cache cause the facebook doesn't get the correct og tag.

Nope. It happens now, even with Twitter
https://bulletstrike.com/blog/release-notes/beta-version-0-5-1-is-live-now.
Moreover, I cannot change the Facebook meta of this post. After I clicked save, and close the meta edit screen, the value come back to default.

Hi there,

It seems like the plugin jfbcsystem was caused the issue, where when I'm temporary disable it, the metaman was working and save correctly.

Yes, that's what I tend to tell you before. Should I uninstall JFBconnect? Will Metaman unsupport it?

Hi Le Giang Anh,

It seems this issue has been discussed previously in this ticket: https://stackideas.com/forums/changes-not-saved#reply-290079 where got conflict with JFBConnect
I've apply the same temporary fix in the file: JoomlaFolder/plugins/system/jfbcsystem/jfbcsystem.php
Can you give it a try?

I am not really sure what do you mean still the same, may i know what is the issue if you enable back that jfbconnect system plugin?

Because i did help you enabled back and it seems like Facebook still able to retrieve those custom opengraph meta data as what you configure from Metaman, you can check my attached screenshot below.

This is what i tried to re-scrape again from Facebook debugger tool.

I've tested again regarding this issue, I can able to save the changes from the Metaman but when i tried to re-scrape again from the Facebook debugger tool, it still not show my latest changes character.

Can you set `horusent` FTP user to have permission to modify your PHP file through FTP?

Because when i trying to modify it, i hitting this :

Error: /home/bulletstrike/public_html/plugins/system/jfbcsystem/jfbcsystem.php: open for write: permission denied
Error: File transfer failed

Please advise.

Okay, after checked further, it seems like that is your site cache issue.

For example, If you enabled cache and updated that meta data through Metaman and press save.

When you try re-scrape from Facebook debugger tool, it will not show the latest meta data like what you made the changes just now, because your site page already cached.

To work around this, if you updated your meta data, you have to temporary disable this following cache then only re-scrape again from the Facebook debugger tool, you can watch my video here, it work perfectly fine. : http://take.ms/aUeAh

- Disable this system - cache from global configuration setting (http://take.ms/FvpRs)
- Disable System - page cache plugin
- Clear the cache from backend

Hi,

I don't think it's a good solution if I have to disable the cache every time I update the meta data. Will you solve this completely?

This is nothing we can do if you enabled cache system which cached all the page HTML content on your site.

For example :

Admin updated meta description data on the certain article page, then your cache system cached this page HTML content.

<meta property="og:description" content="Players, We are happy to announce that the Beta version of Bullet Strike: Battlegrounds (Android) is now live in Vietnam, Canada, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. For iOS version, we will release a few days later. For the players who are not in these country lists, please don't be..."/>

Whatever you update that meta description data again, Facebook unable to crawl your site to retrieve with the latest modified meta data.

It's about the bug thar I cannot save my changes locally , not about how Facebook sees it.

Hm, that was so strange, I and my colleague already did tried again, it seems it stored correctly when i made some changes on this page https://bulletstrike.com/blog/release-notes/beta-version-0-5-1-is-live-now

Perhaps you can list down the step how to replicate this issue again so I can try it again?

Also you can try download this video recording software here https://www.techsmith.com/download/jing/ so you can record it how you replicate this issue.
