Hi,

I have a problem with facebook open graph tag on dasboard page (My home Page)

When i type my link on facebook, please see image attached

Maybe you can add an option on admin side, to define default ;
og:sitename
og:description
og:image
og:something etc
Hey there,

To fix the untranslated string, add this into your language file /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini

Hi Mark,

Happy New Year!

Its not a language string issue (i know, i tranlsted more then 8000 strings myself) . If someone shares my site link on facebook, Should it appear "some one joins a group" ? I think it shouldnt be.

For example stackideas.com

Happy new year Gokhan If they are sharing that particular "stream item", it should display the contents as the opengraph info

If the dashboard is your home page, and you are running on 1.4.6, the stream item will never add these "opengraph" tags on your dashboard.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for reply. I actually agree with you. But something is wrong, please try to paste my site link to facebook stream panel, and see what is going on. You can see my site link on site details area. Thanks

Hi Gokhan,

I just tried to share your homepage url inside facebook but it seems like it displaying correctly as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/KsDRskAU . I believe this is due to some facebook caching the incomplete opengraph result during the sharing and it is not displaying properly when you tried to share it last time. Can you try to share again and see how it goes?

Hi Ezrul,

Thanks for reply. Yes you are right, Facebook caches requests. But the problem is : dasboard page doesnt have a special open tag to set manuelly for facebook or twitter etc. For example your sample you shared with me came from easyblog tag. Not sure why easyblog opengrap tags are on dasboard page

Like I posted earlier, the EasyBlog app is actually adding these "opengraph" tags (It's a bug which we have fixed internally).

All the apps should only be adding these opengraph tags when they are on the single stream item page.

No problem We'll try to post an update for the app tomorrow when the guys are around. My brains aren't functioning well right now as there are too much on my plate.
