HI Guys,

I have been using EasyBLOG on a number of sites for some time now and about 6 months ago started to use sh404SEF for the generation of SEF URL's.

All seemed fine but I have now noticed that with sh404SEF turned on the facebook "like" options do not display on either the latest blog page or the individual blog pages. If I turn off sh404SEF then they reappear.
All other social media linking buttons seem unaffected.

I am not sure if this has always been the case on whether I have just noticed it, but as I really like both extensions I would like to understand how to make them play nicely together!

Any insight would be appreciated...
Hello Nick Cumber,

You can set to hide with the Facebook setting from SH404sef - social plugin, then it should display back the Facebook social button in your blog entry page. If you need further assistance, please provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this.

Hi Arlex,

Thanks for your replay...

Firstly, this is currently on a joomla 2.5 site... I am assuming that this makes no difference?

Secondly, Not sure you meant what you wrote - "set to HIDE" I don't want to hide it I want to show it and yes it IS currently set to show but is not there unless I turn off sh404SEF.

Hello Nick,

There's actually a conflict in SH404 because when the option to enable Facebook likes is enabled in the SH404 plugin, it actually messes up the Facebook like buttons on EasyBlog

Hi Mark,

OK - that seems to be exactly what I am witnessing...

So what would you expect the solution to be here, is this a problem with the sh404 plugin and are they aware of it.?

I would have thought that the combination of easyBLOG and sh404SEF is not uncommon on Joomla sites and therefore there would be quite a few of us looking for a solution?

Hello Nick,

The easiest solution to this is to just turn off the Facebook option on SH404's system plugin. We can't really be pointing fingers at SH404 but ideally, EasyBlog is rendering it's own Facebook scripts on it's own page but their system plugin seems to be replacing or injecting some sort of codes which prevents the Facebook like from working. Perhaps you could try to post this on SH404 and see if they have any insights on this?
