Hi

Any "Facebook Marketplace" options for groups being considered for the future?

Seems to be the way to go.

cheers
Yes it would be very useful that Stackideas offers a Marketplace app for EasySocial !
Members would could sell a product directly in Groups, in Profile, and in Pages.

A simple form, like the Poll app.
Posted from the story form : a title, a price, a description and photos.

Better than words, pictures.
I maked a simulation video to show you what it might look like
https://vimeo.com/395480770
What do you think about that ?

@ssnobben i tried that and the design mess always up :c looks terrible. So i had to use a secon website.

It would be cool, if sellacious would see a workaround, so that the design is not so messy.

An interesting idea : the Product Catalog on Facebook.

I think that the current Advertisement system can evolve, and allow for example users to add an ad from the front-end.

I like the concept of Ecwid from Product Catalog. You could imagine the same thing in Groups and EasySocial Pages.
https://www.ecwid.com/blog/ecwid-introduces-facebook-shop-and-product-catalog.html

At the same time it would suffice that we can add a menu to a page that displays all the advertisements.
Only one thing is missing, the categories of Advertisements.

There is a lot in common between a Classified, an Advertisement, and Market Place.

What design did mess up for you? Pls share what problem you discover with Sellacious bcs Sellacious is a multivendor solution and a very good multivendor solution if thats is what you want to do but It demands a lot of hosting power to be running.

Compared to other multivendor Joomla and others how did you come up with this statement? A complex solution with so many settings and options setup will always be complex and "messy" but if you have another solution you compare with I am very eager that you tell me that, Do you have a name or url for that solution preferably Joomla? I know Hika

@joy pls share your experience of the "messy" generalisation part you talk about for Sellacious and you have experiencing bcs I don’t understand that what you mean. I would be very valuable to have your insights what is not good of Sellacious compared to other ecommerce extensions/pls like WP Woocommerce etc also if you have experience of comparing these too with Sellacious.

And as I as much as anyone else want to ask about new features to make ES more “complete” I know this is a huge undertake for Stackideas team to build, maintain and also focus on very complex extra feature of a complete ecommerce stack if build from scratch. This has to be planned very well and is nothing that comes easy to do.

Stackideas have yet no done even one extra integration with any Joomla ecommerce extension in the past example ie VirtueMart, HikaShop, Joomshopping, Sellacious etc etc so how much resources, time and money will that cost at expense on other development progress you think?

Here we only ask for a system of classified ads, like the Facebook MarketPlace.
It would not be an e-commerce system.

I got lifetime purchase from their solution. But it dont work really well on the fronted - even with their templates himself.
Sellacious got a nice idea, The backend is quiet cool and is on my opinion amazing. The fronted as said terrible.

I would recommend you not to buy it. it's not worth it. It's working with stackideas products, but when it looks buggy and odd, no one is going to use it.

WP Woocommerce is perfect, but dont work with stackideas products. That's why im stuck into joomla. We use Woocommerce with themeum Tutor LMS Solution. Which is from Joomshaper.

@Philippe i would also prefer your solution.

an interesting idea would be to create an Api Rest to associate an existing ad component on the mobile application, do you think it is possible to use the titan Rest api or you have to start from scratch?

@Philippe

Since a few years I tested many marketplaces
Each time I thought I found the perfect fit.
Each and every time after moths of testing I abandoned each one of them.
Quick2cart, HikaMarket, jMarket, Sellacious, Virtuemart ...

Features wise, Sellacious is the best but needs quite a lot of custom css depending on your template.
The translation system is painful (only provided in english).
The front-end administration, that is not integrated but needs to be accessed with a special url is not SEF even if you pay for brand removal (I do no want users to see ugly urls and know what component we use on the site...
... and finally Sellacious is buggy also with updates, I had to clean all tables in DB because the Sellacious support did not even care the component messed up the tables.
Bad support is a no go for me !!

I believe there is, at this time not yet a PROFESSIONAL marketplace solution for Joomla.

I am now using DJ-Classifieds as a solution for individual site users (not for professional use, no B-To-**, no international / intercontinental shipping or payment solutionS ).
Integration is OK, but we all want always something more integrated with the best possible UX

Since a few months Dj-Extensions is also developing Dj-Catalog with marketplace features but it still needs further development.

At this point of time I would recommend to enhance the integration of Dj-Classifieds instead of working on a new integration.

Best regards

Thank you Supporter for your feedback on the various existing extensions.

The ideal solution therefore does not yet exist. Let us dream that it is Stackideas who brings it !

I think that in a first could be a simple evolution of the current Advertisements system. In reality it would be enough to add some functions on the front-end (adding an ad, listing of ads, ad categories).
We would have a few things in the same spirit as for Videos.

Then, with PayPlans which is a payment interface, Premium ads (classifieds) would be possible.

And finally, the ideal would be a real e-commerce (multi vendor). Joomla needs a solid and simple product, like WooCommerce at Wordpress.
Stackideas would thus have the complete panoply, like Invision Power Board.

Hey Philippe,

Like you wrote ... with PayPlans ...
PayPlans is the key solution to most intégrations we can dream of...
StackIdeas has to bring more apps and intégrations with EasySocial features and other 3rd party components (that already have some kind of integration)

EasyBlog / EasyDiscuss have close to 100% of the required features, they just need some teething updates once in a while.
I believe developing their own templates and maintaining them is time consuming and not rewarding... and it delays the other works !!

EasySocial and PayPlans - and their respective available Apps - are the components they must focus on !

Talking only from my own point of view and experience, they need to focus on PP apps for 3rd party like Dj-Classifieds and create the best possible intégrations and features for these 3rd party Apps in ES.
Some examples:
- PP app for ES adverts (with front-end submission of image/banner)
- PP app for Dj-Classifieds
- PP app for JoomDIY
- ... here is the source of ideas for all PP apps that could be useful EasySocial Apss

( Maybe one day SI will come with an in-house marketplace solution but it won't be tomorrow... )

question: Does DJ-classified have an e-commerce function so end users can set up their own products/services advertising with order management/payment/shipment etc where you also have different individual payment solution(s) and with site owner commision based transaction options?

To give a complete answer would be to long here. I am posting some links for you to discover the component...

- Component description page
- Dedicated templates demo (with demo login)
- Modules and plugins (including shipping)
- Integrations
- Apps for the component
- Payment plugins

EDIT;

Also have a look at Dj-Catalog2 you might like this one too based on your personal preferences/requirements ...

If only there was an integration with PayPlans...

DJ-Classifieds or DJ-Catalog2 are not bad, but honestly not at the level of Stackideas products

An important detail. If Stackideas develops a Classified system, this system will be perfectly integrated into their native mobile application.
DJ-Classifieds will never really have a place in this application unfortunately (except for seasoned developers).

I think the current EasySocial Advertisements system has a good chance of evolving, and of becoming a great classifieds tool.

What do you think Mark ?

Marketplace or whatever it is branded is essentially an e-commerce system which requires complex transactions. This itself can be a really huge extension to begin with.

In my opinion, it does not makes sense for EasySocial to contain these features. One fine day, if Facebook has a Learning Management Platform, does this mean we should build one ourselves? With the price point that we are offering and the number of support abuses that we receive on a daily basis, this will just not work.

Another good example would be the built-in advertisement system in EasySocial. There are a handful of standalone ad extensions which probably has a ton of more features than the built-in ad. We certainly can enhance the built-in ads but EasySocial is not designed to be a full fledge ad system. Furthermore, the pricing point of EasySocial does not justify in having a full ad system in EasySocial because the cost of developing and maintaining it is not at all sustainable.

@Mark

Ok then unlock the limitation of admins and allow them to add custom menus and render third party extension directly into the ES social content zone! Why can't I ad a Joomla menu item into a Page or a Group that renders that article directly into the page or group content area ? This would allow admin to integrate anything into ES?

I for one would add a Joomla article with an Ecwid e-commerce code in it and bingo this would all work.

I think a compromise solution is to build a better an easy to use way to build integration easysocial apps. This kind of improuvement will allow us from a newbee level to integrate diferrent specialized components to easysocial which will solve our needs. Several developing situation is that we build communities on a nishe . Around a crowdfunding platform, a classifieds component, a booking component and so on.
So, the best approuch is to build a better and easy to use integration apps for dj-classifieds, solidres, techjoomla jgive jticketing, iguru and so on ... I’m thinking that All companies will give you the all support for building this integration ito a partnership relation which is win-win . OR make it more easy for us to build this integrations.
Regards Mark
Keep easysocial the best social networking platform ! Thank you !

About “ ad a Joomla menu item into a Page or a Group “ ... you can simply do that, pages and groups have positions, so put a menu module on that positions.

@Bogdan is correct when writing we all use these 3rd party components for a niche.
When you contact the 3rd party you receive the same answer Stackideas gives you:
" if enough users ask for it we may possibly work on this..."
" if enough" and "possibly", so chances are close to zero.

@Mark
Keep easysocial the best social networking platform ! Thank you !

We can't do anything about it, EasySocial is in your hands ...
PayPlans is a full potential system but there is no extensive integration with EasySocial at all.
There are so many ways to monetize EasySocial with PayPlan but no existing app in PayPlans !!
Keep easysocial the best social networking platform ! Thank you !

That's the base of my suggestion. To kindly ask Mark develop an easy way to develop integration apps for us somehow... or to make all existing ones and future ones more complex in integration. even more options for modules integration will be great. more dedicated templates for modules, more positions for modules in easysocial ... etc.

I thank Mark for joining us to discuss this project.

I fully understand that including an e-commerce system directly in EasySocial is not possible. This function should probably be dissociated and why not launch EasyCart or EasyShop !
I am sure there is a place to take, and offer a professional alternative to WooCommerce.
After all, Mark, you weren't very motivated to launch a native app a few years ago. And finally today it is here !

In the meantime, I believe that the advertising system could still evolve, and become a great solution for Classifieds.

  • The Back-end part of the Advertisement tool currently offered is an excellent base. There are just a few inputs missing (Category, Price and Location) to fully describe an Advert.
  • The Front-end part could be exactly on the same model as for Videos. Perhaps you could take over some of the existing code.
  • And PayPlans could finally have a special place in EasySocial, and serve as a payment interface for featured Adverts !
Perhaps you could financed the development of these features via a paid EasySocial application.

Better than words, pictures.
I spent the day making a simulation video to show you what it might look like

I think you are on the right track here Philippe about using the core advertising system and integrate it smart with PayPlans also with points/credits system.

You can then also set up related different menus, modules and Joomla ACL in many combinaitons that fit exactly to a model you describe with filter, categories options too that can grow this system further.

Kudos for your nice presentation and this should be "doable" to fit with ES and how it works

Thank you for listening
Thank you calling out Mark

Totally agree with your comment

“This function should probably be dissociated and why not launch EasyCart or EasyShop !

Joomla Needs this and Stackideas is the team to do it.

Bring it on!

Ps. While we are talking new extensions how about a good LMS like easylearn.
There are not any really good LMS extensions for Joomla. Backends to clumsy to build large sites, we are really forced to use WordPress to build a LMS site. I hate WordPress would love to build a course site with Joomla and have it integrated with EasySocial.

Keep up the good work Stackideas team.
Don’t slow down and coast.

Yeah so answer was no.

NO answer was YES

@Philippe
I am sorry but your demo does not bring anything new to existing integration,
Except from ads in group that is a specific feature request included in your demo, it has so many features missing,

There is so much more you did not take into account like:
- What system will be used for payment between users?
- Can users select their own currency
- How do the users setup the taxes if they are professional users?
- What shipping integrations is there, how do the users set up the shipping costs?
- Is there a shipping order.invoice generated?
- Are buyers paid directly or site owner is in between?
- How do the users manage their orders / invoices ?
- What about returns?
- ...

How do you manage the above listed features?

Thank you all.

All these functions that you list Supporter, are not necessary for a Classified / Adverts system.
No order, no payment, no shipping, no invoice.
A Classified system is much simpler because there is no transaction.

Like the Facebook MarketPlace.

What system will be used for payment between users?
we don’t want to manage this kind of interaction, we take money just for those who want to publish ads, we just want to put buyer and seller in contact NOT to manage their trasanctions ! So, the payplans can do that perfectly!

I think that most of us mix a CLASSIFIED system with an ESHOP solution
Philippe got the point whit the idea to bring the ES advert system to a next level,a CLASSIFIED ADS system that should be integrated in any social network platform including ES
an E-SHOP solution is a total different beast and , in my personal opinion, should be treat as a standalone solution (invoice+tax managment, B2B functionality and so on)
regarding payplans integration I trust that Mark agree with us that a better link to ES and Payplans is the priority at this point of time...

I still think that an e-commerce solution made by EasySocial would be very beneficial for the Joomla community.
It would probably be a new extension (maybe EasyShop, EasyCart).

But Mark said he was not planning to develop an e-commerce solution.
So for the moment, we could be satisfied with an evolution of the current Advertisement system towards a Classified system

Philippe, I understand and like your idea.
I just couldn't make the relation between what you were first asking then your "basic" solution, but again I like the idea.
As I wrote I believe there are multiple ways to monetize ES with PayPlans.
BUT, each time I made a How-To request in the forum the SI Team replied like this:
- publishing / unpublishing Pages/Groups with PayPlans is not possible because it requires major changes in ES code
- Payplans can not display subscription pricing in points(Pay with ES points) but only in currency
- ...

The key is always integration - even between StackIdeas components

Thats my thoughts right now also to fit with ES - not interact with any transactions between parties like payment, logistics etc just secure the ID part of users of your ES system.

Make this as simple as possible to start with an easy integrated classified system "KISS" and from there in future it can grow into something more extended complex EasyShop system or whatever.

Just make the classified controls of ads for different timing period(s), who can make them with PayPlans integration plans, where etc is complex enought to get this going.

*** And don’t forget mobile first focus (PWA) and its important with location awareness, notifications and chat integration (Conversekit integration)

I would love to see a marketplace as well, but not just limited to groups/pages. I am considering adding a classifieds system for my site, but although some extensions have limited integration with EasySocial, not are integrated to the extent that I'd like, including linking to buyer/seller profiles, and use of the EasySocial messaging system.

Another way is to have use a Joomla SSO solution to other ecommerce, crm whatever type to use with SAML - Sibolleth Joomla identity provider solution https://rolandd.com/news/ro-single-sign-on-1-1-0-released - you can act both as an Identity Provider and a Service Provider anc connect to other none php apps as well.

I would be nice to have that marketplace then show case the item sales localised to make second hand sales nearby you and have a map solution show casing that here is a nice Joomla mapping comp showcasing how that could work with OpenStreetMap solution instead of Google https://www.joomlaforce.com/hellomaps-documentation/

Yes you are right ssnobben, a map would be very appreciated

At the moment there are 30 of us wanting a Classified/MarketPlace system for EasySocial. It's enormous

I hope our voices will be heard.

While a full ecommerce solution for ES would be cool, Mark is right that it would also be more complex to build.

However, a simple classifieds system would not need to track transactions, shipping, etc. If users have the ability to list items for sale and other users can contact them through ES messaging, then the actual details of each transaction can take place in messages between users.

This may not be as feature-rich as some would like, but it would be perfect for what I need.

@ Will yes and people could set this up by the "Groups" function and we can add similar like Joomlas custom fields for structure of the simple classified system

Hello everyone !
I don't know if Mark and his team read our messages and realize that we are now 30 people wanting a classifieds system !
If this number is not enough, what could this Feature Requests category be used for ?...

i have been using the stackideas products for some time now: ES, EB, ED and Converskit.

the design harmonisation of the products has improved overall. however, there is still a lot of potential to improve the functional harmonisation of the products.
but i don't want to go on about why some things are not yet as we would like them to be. i think the building of the ES API is basically the right step to achieve a better harmonisation of all the products in the future. i hope to see a lot of improvements in the integration of the own stackideas and external joomla products soon.

good start would indeed a Marketplace for groups.

Hello everyone

You will be very disappointed Here are the answers I could get on another post from Raymond :
Currently we do not have any classifieds tool for EasySocial in the pipeline, nor do we plan to create an e-commerce solution in the near future. While that can change in the future(even we don't know), for now I wouldn't bet on it.
Unfortunately there are no improvements planned for the ads system.
Perhaps we could express our incomprehension on this page : https://stackideas.com/forums/classifieds-system

I understand that each feature request cannot be taken into account. They have time and money constraints.
But what good is it to offer us this exchange space for features requests, to be 30 people to wish for something, but do not weigh in the balance...
Who better than we know what is good for members of our communities !

I just want to add in my opinions here, as i've been following the thread and also am looking for similar solutions. The stackideas suite of software is amazing, outstanding and gives us a great platform to build from. However, most, if not all people building with stackideas products, need an income stream, even if to only cover costs, but i would think most people want to make a profit. Currently this hard to achieve. Ideas for me i am looking for and could implement immediately are multi vendor marketplace, user donations system, subscribe (pay) to user system, live streaming. Basically, for me, any ways that the users can make money is going to benefit everyone, as this makes for more and better content, which in turn attracts more users and therefore benefits the site as a whole and site owner, whether you are monetizing that currently the only way, of paid membership, or one of the other ways above (with site commissions).

Its like you've given us the base, and an amazing one at that, but there's nothing to do with it apart from make hobby or frees sites. We all want to make money! Help us make money. It's clear from this thread and others, and the recent, trend in social marketplaces that there is big demand for it. Being able to link a social network with e-commerce system is huge for marketing potential.

So here's an idea, set up a sister company or division and develop a suite pf paid extensions, standalone products / integrations and charge similar price, as current bundle, per year, people are willing to pay. I would pay an extra $300 per year for EasyMoney suite of apps.

Then Joomla can become a go to platform for developing Social E-Commerce sites.

Even the first way to go would be a very simple system without any transactions, site commitment except gurantee of user profile credentials ie proof of identity between actors as seller/buyer It would be good also to analyse and have an eye on the future enhancement for ES eccosystem regarding payments & ecommerce.

In the dreamworld it would be nice then to add Blockchain payment technlogy for all ES/Stackideas transactions and there is some VirtueMart and Electronicum solutions already https://electroneum.com/ with Joomla support done from JoomlaProffs ie the people that do the Nintendo Nordic sites. https://joomlapro.com/product/virtuemart-electroneum-payment-method https://joomlapro.com/product/virtuemart-electroneum-prices

Electroneum is a revolutionary payment system based upon blockchain technology. It would then be possible for a ES/Virtuemart multvendor marketplace with blockchain payment technology also.

To be honest with you guys, I am very reluctant to provide any information on our forums because I end up spending too much time with endless discussions instead of spending time working on the features.

Another instance is on the thread https://stackideas.com/forums/tags-for-groups-and-pages .

I am not being rude by not responding but if it is going to take all my time, then I won't be able to work on any of these features at all.

Thanks for understanding.

If the idea of a MarketPlace / Classifieds Native App for EasySocial (like on Facebook) still interests you, you can add your vote in the feature request here :
https://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial/item/377-marketplace-classifieds-native-app-like-

Thank you,
