I noticed that the like count for my article was not accurate. Any ideas what causes this?

Hi William,

I am sorry for the late reply.
Actually we didn't have control over this. The Like button isn't just a counter of just Likes: it also includes Shares as well as comments on Liked and Shared items on the social network. Facebook also clarified that the Like count of an article or webpage will increase when user share the link via direct messages. (source)

The number shown next to your Like button is actually comprises of the number of likes of your URL, the number of shares of your URL(this includes copy/pasting a link back to Facebook), and and the number of likes and comments on stories on Facebook about your URL. (source).

If you have anymore question, please don't hesitate to ask us.
Hope this will help.
Thanks.

Hello William,

The likes count does not actually link to the post. Like counter on your article is actually not the same as the link that you shared on Facebook.

The link I shared was a general link to the company FB page. The most recent post on that page links to the blog article. Can you take another look?

Thanks for the answer Mohd. It is understandable that Stackideas does not have control of this.
