Facebook comments, likes and and ratings not working.

Hi,

Having a few problems:

1. Facebook comments are no longer showing up on blog posts. The top "featured" post is a good example as it has many comments.

2. The Facebook like button has also disappeared from posts.

3. The ratings do not work. When clicking on a star it returns "Method default does not exists in this context"

FTP and backend access added. Please DO NOT publicly post my domain name
I was totally confused at first thinking you meant I had to turn mod-rewrite off but your last message was right on. I did have index.php redirected to the home page and deleting that fixed it. Thanks for your patience and help Mohd!

I am sorry for the late reply.
I have helped you fix the Facebook comments and the Facebook button. I believe this plugin is causing this issue: sh404SEF core - Social buttons. Here is my screenshot of the settings: http://screencast.com/t/8rouaer8 .

About the rating issue, I tried running some tests on your site, and it seems like your site: http://yoursite.com/index.php redirected back to http://yoursite.com . This is actually causing an issue with the AJAX comments. When the AJAX posts to Joomla, it uses the URL of http://yoursite.com/index.php . I believe you actually need to disable that redirection (if that is possible), because when the redirection happened, all the form values are reset.

Hi Mohd and thank you for the thorough and very prompt reply and fix.

I'm not sure I understand the redirect issue. I looked at index.php and do not see any redirct in that file. I also looked at htaccess and only see the www - / redirect which I've had forever. Can you help point me to what you found? I've attached the php file I think you were directing me to.

Hi again Mohd,

I've reread your reply and I think I better understand what you were trying to explain. It was confusing because URLs posted were repeated.

If I am now correctly understanding you, what you are saying isn't about the index.php file ut about the URL rewriting and modified htaccess file? If that's true it would mean that the ratings cannot work with sh404sef and other SEO URL plugins? And maybe not even Joomla SEF URLs?

Or am I just way lost here?

Hi,

I think you should remove the redirection URL from your SH404SEF of http://yoursite.com/index.php . It is because when you click the rating, the AJAX doesn't get the correct URL to process, so it pop-up that alert box in your site. Here is my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/AgjPakOs .
