Hi Support

Is there any way that I can change the size of the Facebook login button. Please see see screen shot. It seems to show twice and is either to wide or cut off at the end...

thanks

Paul
Hello Paul Murray,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
I have checked in your site, it seems like you already applied the CSS code in your template css file right? Please advise.

Hello Paul Murray ,

Sorry for late reply to this,

div#fd.es .es-login-box .btn-register {
width: 147px !important;
font-size: xx-small !important;
}

div#fd.es .btn-es-facebook {
width: 153px !important;
font-size: xx-small !important;
}

Try inside this css code in your template css file and see how it goes.

Paul, I recommend you add it at the bottom of one of your template files so that it is permanent, and so you don't loose it everytime you upgrade EasySocial. I know in my case with YooTheme templates, there is a custom.css file which is designed for such overrides. But basically it should work with your main css file for your template.

If you tell me either the URL of your website or what framework your template is built on, maybe I can help.

Hi Arlex

Yes I got the issue kind of under control. Thanks to your code.

FYI I entered it into the custom CSS file as Janik suggested. This works great for me as I am sure you have already noticed I do not really know what I am doing.

best

Paul

Hi Janik

Thanks for your tip.

FYI my site is here:

finalbug.net

I suspect that I am thinking about a lot of the same stuff that you are thinking about. I read your template post with great interest and this is where I am currently:

http://stackideas.com/forums/more-es-eb-ed-integration-and-menu

I will also post in your template post what my current logic is with respect to templates as a none power user

Cheers Paul, you are very welcome! I am glad that it worked

Yeah, from now on I recommend that any css that you want to edit you do in your custom.css... with firebug you can find the fitting css string, and then you can just add your adjustments accordingly. That way you can upgrade any component without losing of your tweaks every time. Also if you mess up it is easy to remove the override

I checked out your site, I love the logo and you have a pretty cool concept going on there. I just want to give you a heads up that out of curiosity I signed up on the site, and I got a 403 error when logging in. I attached the screenshot below.

I am glad that you enjoyed my thread on Templates, and I look forward to getting your take on the topic

I briefly looked into the other thread you have started and I wholeheartedly agree that I would like to see those UI tweaks added to create a more consistent experience across Stackideas components. I have requested many if not all of those in the Voice section, you can vote for them there

Also based on your concept and the fact that it is a Final Cut/Video Editing community, I thought I would give you a little tip, go check out Layer Slider by Offlajn, it is a veeery impressive slider ported over from Wordpress they sell it for $20. It allows you to do all kinds of different effects incl. embedding videos. More importantly any text in the slider can be indexed by google so it helps with SEO... and it is hardware optimized and runs very fast. Here is a link to their demo: http://layerslider.demo.offlajn.com/

I am currently using it as full screen on my website frontpage, without repeat and basic text... you can see it at statusselect.com (note: I still have to add a lot more to the animation, but you can get a feel for the power and speed of it)

Hi Janik

"Yeah, from now on I recommend that any css that you want to edit you do in your custom.css"

I hear you loud and clear

Thanks for the login feedback. This used to work. I will have to test it again. Sigh! Thankfully we use products with the best support on the planet.

I will look into voting for the stuff that you are requesting in the voices section and spread the word

Thanks for the Offlajn tip, I have been playing with their AJAX search plugin and suspect that they are very open to modifying it for better ES support. I have been mailing them asking them if it is possible to search "Mulitlists" in the future and not just user names!!! And yes I am aware of their ES plugin.

Could you please post a link too your Site so that I could check it out.

thanks

Paul

my site is statusselect.com feel free to check it out, it is still under heavy development, but it is coming together fast

and yeah I use their Ajax search plugin on my site as well Honestly, their support is absolutely fantastic, I actually ended up buying Layer Slider just as a thank you for going out of their way... They ended up diagnosing a problem with my YooTheme template that the guys at YooTheme weren't able to figure out hahaha... So I told them I would buy an extra component of theirs to support them... I always say I want a 100% stackideas eco system, but I gotta admit, offlajn has continuously earned my respect and I never hesitate to buy any of their products. I am sure that they can help you tweak it, they helped me both in my JomSocial days and now in my EasySocial days

Hi Janik

Will check out the Layer Slider thing and see if it interesting for me. For the record I have a video pop up workflow that I am pretty happy with. You can see it in action here for e.g.: http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/375-tools-for-petabytes

Maybe I will see if I can bribe them in a similar fashion. I want deeper ES search ability. Now

I had a look at your Site. I realise that it is a work in progress but would like to give you some feed back any way. Please forgive me if I miss some obvious stuff or address stuff that you are currently working on :-) In no particular order.

I would love some more info on the home page or maybe an “about” section
I am not sure of the point of the “STATUS/SELECT” menu option it takes me to a page that looks very much like the home page
I had some difficulty understanding Personal goals!?! What are you up to here? What Component are you using?

What works great are the notifications.Eg I got notified that I got a badge for being a n newbie :-)
I dig that you have Notifications, Friend Requests and Conversations up top in a separate navigation but do not understand why the other stuff is not up there also. e.g.: My Profile, Friends, Followers, Photos etc

Yeah. A single menu for all “Easy” stuff is kind of a must have!

I did notice on one attempt to sign out that I got the following message “File not found.”
The second time around I did not get this message

hope that something in here helps

best

Ah thanks for your feedback! Yeah, the frontpage needs much more information to explain the general concept of the site. I am going to do that in the form of the animation, just haven't taken the time to design a good animation that explains it all. That said an "About" section is a genious idea, I hadn't thought of that, thanks!

The STATUS|SELECT in the center on the menu is actually there as a logo, it is not meant to be a menu item, but of course it is clickable and does take you to the frontpage.

The personal goals thing is under heavy development, it is causing lots of bugs and I am waiting for Joomplace to fix it... they are on the site right now as we speak. Basically, it is a goal tracking component called Personal Goals Manager. It has full integration with EasySocial. But yes, it needs to be explained much better... and I might rename it to Goal Tracker or something different.

I also agree that I need to have the rest of the menu up in the very top somehow, I am considering adding Offlajns login module which would give me all of that in a drop down menu... then I could just align it to the right. Basically I am trying to find a way to add it without adding too much clutter.

What logout button did you click on when you got that error?
