Is there an easy-to-understand guide for Facebook preview how everything has to be done exactly?

Thanks

Torsten
Hi Torsten,

We have submitted an app review to Facebook but it is not approved yet. Due to this, we cannot guarantee that our submission process is 100% successful.

Once Facebook has approved our app review submission, then we will update the docs regarding the submission process.

I believe you do not need to submit the app for review in EasySocial, only for EasyBlog/EasyDiscuss since they have the autopost to pages/group functionality.

Can I ask for EasyBlog, for the Autoposting and to pages / groups etc, what 'Items' do I need to select in the Facebook API Review screen please, so I can submit my review to them?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rob,

These are the items that you would have to submit for review.

For pages: manage_pages, publish_pages

For groups: Groups API, publish_to_groups, groups_access_member_info

Is there no way, as a developer, to submit an app "generally" so that then the users get the approval due to the developer release.

Similar to a "general type approval" e.g. for vehicle attachments

Hey Torsten,

Do you mean a method where Stackideas submits the permissions for review, and when approved, all the licensed domains are able to use these permissions?

If yes, unfortunately Facebook does not have such API/feature that allows us to do that. With that, all site owners have to submit their own app for review.

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for that. I've begun that process but it seems that I have already come unstuck on the publish_pages, as if I select how the app uses Facebook which I believe the EasyBlog 'AutoPost' feature to be 'Publishes content to Facebook automatically' then it tells me that this is not possible, see screenshot?

Regards,

Hey Rob,

You can try using the first option or the 'Others' field instead and describe what the permission does. For example, 'Lets bloggers(as pages) publish content to pages that a user manages.'

The key point here is to let Facebook know that we are autoposting as the page itself, not as a Facebook user.

Raymond,

Thanks for the reply and I have submitted the publish_page section, making a screen recording to show them how it all works.

However, can I ask, what does Easy Blog need the manage_pages element of the Facebook API, for us Autoposting an Easy Blog post, to our own Facebook page for example?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Rob,

The manage_pages element is required to retrieve the list of pages that the Facebook account owner administers.

This is done at the backend autoposting section. Without this permission, signing in to Facebook from the backend autopost will not be able to get the list of pages that you can autopost to.

I was turned down by Facebook Review yesterday after jumping through the hoops and showing how I autopost a blog to a Facebook FanPage I administer. Their response was that I didn't show how my autopost helps the user! I wrote back in feedback that the articles themselves help the members of the Fan Page since that is why I was posting them -- the purpose of the site is to teach about strokes and the members of the page joined to learn about strokes.

I think the whole concept of Facebook Apps is skewed to gaming and it is horribly difficult to complete the form and make the video when its the content of what is posted that is important and not the App itself.

So, if and when you either get approved or disapproved, could we please strategize how to get over their hurdles. I'd truly appreciate it. I'm not a developer but have had great success autoposting up until Facebook's political problems coupled with GDPR.

Hey Rita,

Thanks for sharing this with us. We are working on a guide to simplify the review process but here's the thing, no matter what, the decision still needs to be made by them

Great points rasied Rita. I have now submitted mine and whilst I don't hold much hope, I shall see whether it is successful or not and then share what I chose / wrote etc.

Thanks Rita and Rob for your feedback.

Yes the information will be most helpful.

The more feedback we get from Facebook, the more we can strategize and think about how to streamline the submission process and this will help out future apps as well.
