I love that the Exif data comes through on images but is there anyway to control what comes through? I would like to also show lens used where available.
Hi John,

Currently EasySocial does not control what exif info is imported. As long the setting is enabled, it will import all available exif data from the uploaded image.

Hi Raymond,

Crossed wire perhaps - by comes through I mean what the viewer can see.

Obviously Easysocial controls what Exif is displayed to viewers (or it would 100's of lines long) - currently it shows only Camera, Shutter, Apperture and ISO.

What I am asking is can we change what is displayed, as I would also like to display lensID

Regards

John

Hey John,

Actually I'm not really sure if lens info is imported. If you provide us an image that has the information, I can test this out and see.

In terms of displaying the exif info, yes EasySocial does limit it to around 6 elements from the exif data.
What I am asking is can we change what is displayed
Unfortunately this cannot be achieved without modifying several EasySocial core files, which the changes are not protected from future updates.

It is actually 5 elements: aperture, exposure, focal length, iso, camera

Actually it doesn't display focal length though I wish it would - has there been any development on this in latest versions of easysocial? Attached is an image that should contain all the exif data you could need like LensID etc. - not sure if I gave you one when asked.

Hey John,

It appears there is a typo in the code, causing the focal length to not display.

If you want to get this working now, you can refer to the getExifData function in the following file and correct the following? https://take.ms/0msuS
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/photo/photo.php

The focal length should show after you make the correction: https://take.ms/clcm3

I will also log this issue in our internal tracker so we can address this.

Thanks

Any update on the possibility of adding the Lens name too - we chose easysocial over other options because it displays exif data and we are a photographic community so it would be great to have this one extra thing.

You're most welcome John.

Currently we do not have plans to add other exif info. If you urgently need this, you can always request for a quote from us at https://crm.stackideas.com and select "Customizations".
