I can post events from backend as admin but as anormal user from the front end posts and it just goes no where. Not pending, page just loads back to stream.
Hey Ted,
It seems that sh404sef is causing the issue, caching links to use double events/events e.g. http://site.com/events/events/item/72-playgroup,
http://site.com/events/events/create

Can I have your permission to purge all of your existing SEF URL from your Sh404sef extension so that it can regenerate the correct SEF URL and see if it's working?

Hey Ted,
In your sh404SEF config, under extensions I have helped you set to use 'Menu Alias' instead of 'Title Alias' (refer screenshot). This is because if you use title alias, it cannot be the same name as our default view url. For example, Event menu item title is the same as our default view which is events, therefore generating events/events. This will result in conflict.
You can change the menu item title for Events if you want and use back your previous sh404SEF config. However, my recommendation is to use the config I have set for you. Hope this clarifies your issue. Creating events should be working fine now.
