Hi - I currently use JomSocial but the event system does not suit.

I need to create events for a group for example a running group.

But I don't always want to display who is attending. So it is like an open event where people can see when and where the event is... I also would like to be able to set it to be a recurring event without having to put an end date. Does the upcoming events plugin allow this type of use?

Thank you for your inquiry. I've talked to our developer and I am to understand that though you can do an open event, you are unable to set it as "recurring" due to some server's and system limitation. We might be able to pull off the 'recurring' but I do not want to make any promises that I know I personally cannot keep.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply, we might have missed this post earlier. We are currently testing EasySocial 1.3 internally but it should be available pretty soon as beta.

any news on recurring events and events that do not require end date and confirmation of who is attending

We don't have any ETA on this but the next minor release of EasySocial will incorporate events within Groups
