There are 2 issues with the Event Filter:

1. When filtering past events by 'sort by closest date' the sequence starting from the top of the page is from the earliest date in ascending order each year, not the correct/most recent date and descending order without starting again for a different year (descending image date within each year is the current incorrect sequence).

2. There are two event filters, how do I get the default visible filter to be 'sort by recently added' instead of 'sort by closest date'?

Suggestion

Members and Visitors will still wish to look at an event stream for a period of time after the event is completed, but the event is automatically hidden in past events as soon as it is over.

If a 'Hide Event After' global field was in admin settings and the number of days is entered (default is always 7 days if not changed) it would solve the problem.

Add a Hide Event field in setting up an event that could override the global default.
Hi Richard,

Kindly find my response for your inquiries below:

I have checked your event listing page, seems it display correctly https://take.ms/WTq2R
Perhaps, I have misunderstood you here, can you provide us some screenshot so that we can clearly know the exact issue?

Unfortunately, there is no setting for this on this point of time.

This could be a great idea, It would best if you could submit your feature request regarding this simply by creating a new ticket on the forums, and set it to "Feature Request" so everyone else on the site could vote for it as well. The team will usually prioritize features that are in popular demand during the development process of the next major release.

I will post the suggestion in the feature area later today Muhammad.

Ref item 1, the issue is with past events, the sequence for current/future events is fine. If you click to include Past Events, the sequence starts from the earliest event and moves forward to the latest event, it should be the other way round as a user wishing to look at past events will wish to see the most recent past events first.

Therefore could the issue be fixed by changing the sequence including past events to start with the most recent event and go backwards by event date in order? If this is corrected, item number 2 is no longer required.

If you want to keep the current sequence, give the user an option by adding a checkbox filter for Oldest Events First (another option would be a filter for a single year, so 4 options):

Include Past Events
Oldest Events First
Year
Hide Repetitive Events
