Can you tell me the folder structure for overrides of files in this folder location: components/com_easysocial/views/events

Thank you,
James
Hi James,

You can override theme files, but unfortunately, you cannot override view files.

Can support for this be added in the future?

Or a setting to set the default radius for nearby events? Currently, the default is set to 10 miles and that doesn't work for us. The lowest we can go and be successful is 50 miles.

Hey James,

Unfortunately, since view files are core files, they cannot be allowed to be overridden, or else there is a high chance for issues to occur when new version releases.
Or a setting to set the default radius for nearby events?
Unfortunately, there is no other way to set the default radius. If you really want to, you would have to hack the view file.

Thanks Raymond, I did edit them to achieve what I needed but I don't want to have the responsibility of doing that with every update of EasySocial. If you guys can consider adding an option in the backend that sets the default search radius that would be amazing.

Hey James,

Thanks for the input on this. Do you mean the default search radius for events or?

Yes for nearby events view, it is hardcoded in your files to 10 miles/km.

I adjusted it to 50 by modifying the files but they will be overwritten with the next ES update. It would be nice to have a setting in the admin section to be able to set the default radius.

You are right, I think there should be a possibility to set a default radius value from the back end.
