Hello

An event admin cannot add a file to the event, unless he is himself a participant. The Files entry in the Applications list is not displayed.

This is an issue, in particular in group events. When an event is created in a group, group admins become admins of the event (which is a very good thing). But as they are not attending the event, they cannot add files to the event...
Thanks for the input on this, this will be fixed on the next release

Hello

I tested this on ES 1.4.11 and the issue is still there. BTW, when an event is Open, the Files entry in the Applications list should be displayed to all users, no?

The only thing that changed with ES 1.4.11 is that the event admin is now able to post a file through the story form.

Regards

Hello there,

Sorry for the delay of this reply because it is weekend for us here.

Yes, files entry in the application list can be viewed by all users.

The only thing that changed with ES 1.4.11 is that the event admin is now able to post a file through the story form

Glad to know it is fixed now.

Yes, files entry in the application list can be viewed by all users.

That's not the case: check attached snapshots, done when the user did not reply (RSVP) yet, and then after he did.
In addition to that, an event admin should see the "Files" entry on all events, open or not (that was the purpose of this ticket).

Hello there,

Sorry for the delay of this reply.

Sorry for my misunderstanding. Thanks for your clarification.

Admin, who create one event will see "Files" entry as shown http://screencast.com/t/wk07ASQNxHJ
Correct me if wrong.

Hello

Sorry for the delay of my reply.

Yes, admin who created the event can see the "Files" entry, but other admins of the event don't. As a reminder, when an event is created in a group, group admins become admins of the event.

So to summarize, I think we should have the 2 following rules respected (which is not the case presently):

1- When an event is Open, the Files entry in the Applications list should be displayed to all users
2- The Files entry in the Applications list should always be displayed to event admins (whether the event is Open or not)

Hi there,

Unfortunately, currently we do not have this features yet . But it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

Hello

This is not a question of feature, but a question of consistency... Event admin should be able to do anything in the event, otherwise what's the point of being an admin? I already had an issue fixed regarding this (see Event Admin Should Be Able To Post In Event), this is the same here regarding files.

Same consideration for files in Open events. Since event is Open, everything in it should be public... including files. This fix is maybe a bit more tricky because you will need to make sure that the "Upload" button is not displayed if the user is not a participant.

At least issue with event admins should be fixed. Issue on Open events is a bit less critical.
