Hi,

The newly added twitch integration is a huge success on my site. The only minor issue is it wont accept twitch highlight videos or clips. The reason why this is important is that normal twitch videos auto delete after a few days while the highlights and clips last forever.

Here is an example of a highlight video

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/202020487

Thanks guys
Hi Fidel,

Correct, me if I'm wrong here, do you mean the link that you given above(highlight video) will not works in EasySocial?
I've tested this locally it seems to work fine http://take.ms/a1qwp
It seems you are using older version of EasySocial, would you mind to update to the latest version?

Hi,

Yes, the highlights were working randomly but would also just stop working randomly.

Also, I have just updated and notice a pretty big issue. All of my ES video modules have disappeared.

On my homepage, there should be about 5 es video modules and they have all vanished.

Thanks.

On my homepage, there should be about 5 es video modules and they have all vanished.

-> It seems there is some css code that overrides the display of the module in your site http://take.ms/QVJTD
As I try to untick the 'display none' the site will shows the video modules in your site.
As I want to have a better check, it seems your FTP access doesn't work http://take.ms/yFnbs

That is extremely odd because that line appears to be coming in on it's own and not from custom.

I will try to investigate.

I will also fix the login for you.

Thanks

I just double checked my custom css file and that line does not exist anywhere so I am not sure where it is coming from and why it just randomly started happening to the ES video blocks. What is curious is that it isnt happenig to video blocks in a sidebar position

I can easily fix this by adding display: block !important; to my custom CSS file but it would probably best to first understand where this phantom code is coming from

As for the twitch highlights, I will continue to monitor and let you know. I believe the issue occurs when you try to edit a video that was uploaded as a highlight from twitch. When I edited mine before, it stopped working.

Update: The highlight link is not working at all on my end

When using the quick post, I receive an error that the video type is not supported

When using the full post method, it loads a blank image

Hi Fidel,

I have fixed it.
Thanks so much for finding the root of the problem, you guys really do go above and beyond the call of duty for us!

-> Thanks for the heads up of this issue you are most welcome

Update: The highlight link is not working at all on my end
When using the quick post, I receive an error that the video type is not supported

-> I'm able to replicate this issue in your site, where I'm hitting the error:
>Notice</b>: Trying to get property of non-object in <b>/home/admin/vghl.myvirtualgaming.com/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/videos/controllers/process.php</b> on line <b>64</b><br />

but in order to troubleshoot this issue further, can you help me change the file permission of the file below to the correct ownership :
.../administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/crawler/hooks/twitch.php
http://take.ms/ylYbY as I cannot debug on this file

Hey Fidel,

Based on what we checked, it seems like hitting this following error, this is the curl response.

curl: (35) SSL connect error

But the strange part is youtube video link didn't hit this error.

Can you try consult with your webhosting provider and see whether they know something regarding this curl error on server?

So in twitch there are standard videos, highlight videos and clips.

If I share a standard twitch video URL, there aren't any issues aside from the fact that twitch deletes these after 14 days.

This is why twitch allows you to highlight a video. These are not deleted. This is where the ES video process breaks down. It will not accept a highlight video URL and says that it is an invalid URL if you use the quick post in docker, or it loads a blank link if you use the full post.

I have not tested Twitch clip URLs yet

Linode tech support replied with the following:

Hey Fidel,

Have you taken the suggestion of the linked StackOverflow article and updated your version of curl?

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/6/html/deployment_guide/ch-yum

We do not have access to the internals of your Linode to investigate this on your behalf.  If you have any comments or questions, though, please don't hesitate to let us know.  The more details you provide, the better equipped we are to assist you.

Hey there,

Okay, may i know how you difference which video is the standard, highlight and clips? Because I still new for this Twitch video provider.

And provide us these 3 different type of video link so I can do some comparison why one of the video type is possible to embed in Easysocial, it might be we missed something the way we implement this video embedded.

To be honestly, I am not familiar with this, is there a way to allow them able to access your internal server?

Hi,

I think the issue with Linode support is that that request is out of their scope

I will now provide you with 3 types of twitch videos for the same video

Twitch Past Broadcast - Working without any issues

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/204643785

Highlight from Twitch Past Broadcast - Invalid file when using quick post from docker, blank screen when using standard add video method

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/204744541

Clip from Twitch Past Broadcast - Untested

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Based on what i checked for those video link, it seems like both Twitch video link not working on your site, you can check my video here : http://take.ms/5yd1s

Then we checked further again from your SSH, it seems like you hitting following error exactly same as what other user reported in this article.

[root@www certs]# curl -v https://www.intribunale.net/immobili

Perhaps you can try find a way to consult with your webhosting provider and see anything they can help you upgrade to cURL 7.42 using a third party repository for CentOS 6 or building from sources.

This is strange because I have been uploading normal twitch videos without any issues at all with the earlier release of es 2

I can even see your recently uploaded twitch clip

Yes, I did recorded a video to show you only this type video can work correctly https://clips.twitch.tv/ProductiveShinyCobblerFeelsBadMan , but as long as that video related with this domain it failed (https://www.twitch.tv) for some reason.

You can try access this URL https://vghl.myvirtualgaming.com/twitchvideotest.php , this is the code (http://take.ms/6sSZy) i added from this file (rootFolder/twitchvideotest.php) and pass in that video domain, it show the same error as well when it go through the CURL.

This is really nothing we can fix for you, if the issue related with the PHP part, this is something we can able to fix but that error is coming from your CURL. It would be best if you can keep in touch with your webhositng provider regarding this.

It looks like the redhat version of curl, known as libcurl, has not yet been updated for redhat rpm installations. I have tried to reach out to the developer of this version of curl to ask if he can please update it so that I can do a yum update on my server

I will keep you guys updated.

Hey Fidel,

I was investigating this with Arlex earlier and it is definitely related to the curl library. Because if you try to ssh to the server and run the curl command, you get the same exact error.

There is 2 possible errors here:

1. Your curl setup might not be correct.

or

2. Your curl is outdated.
