Configuration Question for Forum,

On the EasySocial Dashboard the left hand side Sidebar has a number of elements such as NewsFeeds, Groups, Applications, OnLineUser, Recent Users, Recent Albums, Leaderboard.

Questions; is there a way to configure what information is included in the Dashboard Sidebar?

Would like to remove Recent Users and Recent Albums. I can't see any thing in the Component Settings, but there may be another way.

Thanks for the information.
hey daniel and randall,
it's already possible to remove / disable the recent users and recent albums at the dashboard easily.
just check your joomla modules - there you will find them and can easily control them like all other joomla modules

hope that helps

At the moment in v1.2.4 I do not believe there is any back-end DashBoard settings to enable or disable the Recent Users and Recent Albums.

I'm sure that if there are enough requests, this sort of thing will be an option in a later version of ES. And I am sure someone will come up with a way to turn these off using an Override or something.

Alex and Mark,

I took a look at my Joomla Modules and EasySocial Album, EasySocial Leaderboard, EasySocial Users, etc... Modules are all disabled, but in the LEFT sidebar that is standard in the Dashboard they still show up in the list of information. I thought that the EasySocial modules were if you wanted to add that functionality to other locations in the sight. I've attached an image that shows the location that I'm referring to.

Is Randall correct or is there a way to select what information is shared in the Standard Left Sidebar in EasySocial?

hey daniel,
if you disabled these modules then they shouldn't show up there. try to clear your cache and check again.
I'm sure it's posssible to do that because getting rid of that stuff was one of the first things I did on my site

Yep, "Recent Users" is definitely a module. Try filtering the modules by EasySocial Users and see if there are any other leftover modules?

Alex and Mark,

I've attached a screen shot of my Joomla Modules filtered by EasySocial. I'm using Joomla V3.2.3 and Easy Social V1.2.3

All the modules are disabled, but they still show up in the Toolbar, plus there isn't a "Recent Users" module. I must be looking in the wrong location.

Joomla -> Extensions -> Module Manager

I then search for EasySocial to get the attached image.

hey dan,
I think the way you did that search / filter is exactly the problem. the modules are not named "easysocial recent users" but just "recent users". so when you search for easysocial you can't find them.
you could search just for "recent users" and that would bring the result you want for that module, alternatively you can simply filter them by position. just let the search field blank, select the position "es-dashboard-sidebar-bottom" and then click on search. the result will be the screen you see here: http://screencast.com/t/nRrt010Ug

then you can disable all modules at that place in one rush. hope that helps

Alex,

Thank you so much, the search was the problem. Found the modules, disabled them and that did the trick.

I shouldn't have assumed that the EasySocial modules would all have EasySocial in the name.
