Hello StackIdeas Support,

as you can see in screenshot, i have disabled showing password in email, but in email it is still showing the password in clear text format.

By the way this first mail to new user has not any nice styling as most of other notification mails of EasySocial, it is just plain text. Should it?

Thank you and best regards
Just one question left, what is the different in adding a user in backend with ""Also confirm this user" checked or not checked?

It actually depend on your current user profile type setting, if you set registration type to require admin approval, so you have to tick that "Also confirm this user..." when you create new user from backend.

If not, this user will under deactivate state under admin approve this user account.

By the way, we will see if we can include this in next release version regarding that email notification.

Hey,

Hm, if the email does not have any styling, then it is most likely that the registration is from Joomla and not EasySocial. How did you register on the site?

Hello Mark,

thank you for your answer, this sounds plausible, and to be honest, it looks like Joomla…

But i was adding new users in EasySocial Backend and only this one Mail was sent.

Best regards

Ok, i changed Joomla User Preferences to "Dont send password" and after adding a new user in ES Backend, the same Mail is sent with password again. Could be a Joomla error anyway…

Best regards

Hey there,

When I was trying to access your backend, it gave me the following error:

warning
No access to the administration area of this website!

Can you update the account that you provided has the Super User Privilege so that we are able to access and have a further checking on it?

Hey there,

May I know are you referring the email which is shown in the screenshot?

If yes, actually it is generated by Joomla and we had helped you to remove the 'Password'.

Can you have a try and see how it goes?

Hello Irwin,

thank you for your help and sorry for this core joomla related problem.

Initially i was looking for the ES Mail to new users, added in backend, to modify its content. Now it seems, if you add a new user in ES Backend and you click "Also confirm this user", there is no mail going out from ES, but one mail from joomla, that cant be prevented.

On the other hand, if i register from frontend, i have several registration preferences and get appropriate mails from EasySocial. Unfortunately we cant activate public registration on our site.

So two following questions:

1. How to get an ES mail going out to welcome new, in backend added, users, without waiting for account confirmation?
2. Or how to register new users from frontend only if you are logged in as user a specific user group?

Thank you and best regards

Hey there,

It is possible to get an ES mail going out to welcome new, in backend added, users, without waiting for account confirmation but the core file needs to be modified.

We had helped you to modify it, you can just download my attached users.php file and replace it at JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/controllers/users.php.

It would be the best to perform a backup on the original users.php file before you replace it.

Do take note that remember to enable 'Send Registration E-mail To User' which is at Backend > EasySocial > Users > Profile Types > choose which profile type you want > General > Registration.

Hello Irwin,

thank you for you help and the modified file, this works as expected now. I thought this would be possible without hack, what about adding this to one of next versions

Just one question left, what is the different in adding a user in backend with ""Also confirm this user" checked or not checked?

Thank you and best regards

Hello Arlex,

thank you for you help and the explanation. Indeed it is surprising in preferences of registration for a profile, that something like "registration type" is valid for backend registration, but something like "send email to registrant" is not.

So i am looking forward to the integration of email notification in next version. Thank you for this info

Than you and best regards
