Wanted to see if this is a bug... I've given my site URL in the details here.

You'll see the page is the standard list of EasySocial users. Near the top you'll see 'Simpson'.... let's use him as the example....

If you type 'Simpson' in the EasySocial menu bar search it finds him... but if you type 'Simpson' in the dating module, it doesn't.

Anything I should be checking on my side, or is this an issue?
Hi Andy,

Any advice based on what I've done?! Should it have brought in their names ok

Regarding your issue, I've wrote a php script to manually re-create the user's name data into EasySocial Please see http://screencast.com/t/yDgcyAOM8

But i would advise you to ask your users to update their other profile details such as their gender and birthday so that their profile data is complete

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hello Andy,

The dating search actually utilizes the advanced search in EasySocial. If you try searching under the Advanced search, does it yield any results?

No that comes back with no results. Interesting! So the normal ES toolbar search finds the person... but the dating module and advanced search don't.

Can you replicate that behaviour on your set-ups?... or is it unique to my site?

Hello Andy,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Sure thing. Adding all that access info in the Site Details here.... Please note the extra step to the Admin login page (see optional info section).

Hi Andy,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, I've checked the user's profile data for 'bill simpson' and apparently this user do not have any data entered in his profile. Please see http://screencast.com/t/ZL5foBNLV54d This is also the reason why you are not able to search user via advanced search. As for toolbar search, the search utilised Joomla smart search and the search do not look up the data from EasySocial #__social_fields_data table ( this is the db table that stored all fields values from users )

May i know how is the user being created? Via EasySocial registration process or the user was migrated from other social component?
Please advise.

Hi Sam.

Ah maybe the issue crept in when I created my new site then. Here's what I did:

1. I did a fresh Joomla 3.3 install.
2. I installed EasySocial
3. I copied across all my old users via DB tables (knowing I wouldn't get the EasySocial info)
4. I updated EasySocial to detect the 'orphan users' and, I hoped, get them created ok in EasySocial.

I thought things had gone ok... but sounds like I may have some issues then.

Any advice based on what I've done?! Should it have brought in their names ok.

I guess worst case scenario people just have to update their profiles right? (and thankfully the wonderful EasySocial reminds them they need to do that)
