Hello SI Support,

please help me, i want in ES a page to be able to share files with guests/public users of the site. How can i do?

Thank you and best regards, Macjoomla
Hi there,

Correct me if I'm wrong here, do you mean that guest user can download files that has been shared to a public page? If yes,
you can customize the file: .../components/com_easysocial/views/pages/view.html.php and comment out/delete the code shows http://take.ms/QBXcE

You are suggest to backup the file that you want to customize just for precaution step

Hello Muhammad,

Thank you for fast and helpful answer, that is exactly what i wanted to do. It works fine

Just one thought, if i am posting as user, i can choose to share with public or with only registered, or some other possibilities. Now if i am posting as page, i can't choose. Wouldn't it be better to have these possibilities consistent for sharing?

Best regards, Macjoomla

Hi there,

For cluster(page, groups, event) the story post will always using cluster's privacy. Example if the page is public page story post will view-able by public (guest user), if the page was in private, anything post in the page only viewable to members/follower of that specific cluster.

Yes, this sounds plausible, but then a download of a public page should be public too by default, shouldn't it?

I've consult this with our developer just now where public user supposedly are able to download the public file but we must consider security aspect as well. I've logged this into our issue tracker and our developer will revise the behavior.

Thank you for consulting this with your developer. Adding a private page seems to be the more secure solution, if somebody needs it…
