hey guys,
just a quick heads up for a tiny change to enhance the usability of the users / groups and events module. (notes below apply in the same way to all of them)

on the admin end:
say you want to show 5 events, the current filtering won't neccessarily do the trick as the admin currently has no way to explicitly tell which one's. therefore I'd suggest to add a field where the admin can simply enter the id's of the event (same for group/user...) in a comma-seperated list. this gives full flexibility with a simple and easy change. everything else in place can remain untouched, it just extends the current one.

on the frontend / for regular users:
in the listing of events (again same for groups/users) there should be the corresponding action button (attend event / joing group / follow user). currently the user would have to visit the event/group/user, then perform the action there and then go back in case he's interested in more of the shown one's - that's a tedious process, we should make it as easy as possible for users to interact. that's it here as well, everything else can remain untouched.

on a sidenote (not a module) the current "suggestions" widget is only suitable for friends. this should be enhanced to also work with followers (generating suggestions based on the people you're following) to fit both usecases. the birthday app was finally adjusted that way in v.20 but suggestions still don't take this into account.
Hi Alex,

Thanks for your insight.
1. I'd suggest to add a field where the admin can simply enter the id's of the event (same for group/user...) in a comma-seperated list.
Thanks for your suggestion. I will discuss this with our developers. Perhaps you can voice this out here: http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial

2. In the listing of events (again same for groups/users) there should be the corresponding action button (attend event / joing group / follow user).
Are you referring to this: http://screencast.com/t/JUKZZRe9Q ? I believe we have already include this in the latest version.

3. The current "suggestions" widget is only suitable for friends. this should be enhanced to also work with followers (generating suggestions based on the people you're following) to fit both usecases. the birthday app was finally adjusted that way in v.20 but suggestions still don't take this into account.
Thanks for your suggestion. We'll take a look on this suggestion.

Thanks and have a nice day.

hey mohd,
just to clarify (perhaps I wasn't clear enough): as said in my first sentence I was talking ONLY about the modules (ES users, ES events and ES groups) and their behaviour/output on admin/frontend. the screenshot you added was from the events listing page and has nothing to do with the modules at all.

having that said actually your reference to the events listing page now has an unintended positive side effect because this shows another inconsistency in the extension that should be fixed
on the events listing (your screenshot) there are "action buttons" (attend event / not attend...), on the "browse users/all users" page such options also exist (follow user / add friend / message...) but on the GROUP listings page these kind of action buttons are missing completely. sorry to say but in terms of consistency this makes absolutely no sense, buttons should be added there as well so that users have the same consistent feel on all pages.

thanks
