ES "Moderate Event Creation" and the frustration of never-ending moderations in case of edits !

Hello,

i have i little frustration since i started useing ES (8 years ago!),

There is an awesome option in profiles permission called ""Moderate Event Creation", it help us to moderate new events submissions, this way we control what is add on the website, the frustration is that whre a member edit an event it request a moderation again and we need to validate AGAIN. In our case people edits their events 2/3/4 times and meanwhiles we need to approve evry time.

I believe if we approve an event once when its created no need to approve it again in case of edits, its frustrating for admins and users too.

The ideal solution is to change the moderation behavior (when its approved then no moderation again in case of edits), OR add a second option called "Moderate Event Edit where admins choose to continue moderating events in case of edits or disabling it to not validate every time a user edit his event.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I am not entirely sure how is this frustrating because in my opinion, this is what protects your site from being spammed.

Consider this scenario:

1. Spammer registers on the site and create a "legitimate event".

2. You approve the event because the event looks legitimate.

3. Spammer edits the event and place spam all over the event description and information.

Based on the scenario above, you will end up with spams on the site.

Thanks for the feedback,

Yes it cas be a case but i think its few % or less of people that post real events and then change them.

As community admin since 6/7 years i didnt get any spammer post an event, real of spam, and if its the case as we know each one ou sectors and audiences so we can easly know if its related or not to our industry.

What i suggest is adding a second option to moderate edits too in addition of creations,
With as option an email notification that inform admins that an event was edited, this way admins are alarmed and can always check.

This is my own opinion from my personal experience with a 25k community website.

Got it, I suppose adding a settings would make sense to users who wish to be more restrictive.
