hey Yann,

it seems like you hitting following error :

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access on this server.

Code : 403 - Forbidden

Can you consult with your web hosting provider regarding this?

I installed v2.0.15 and initially it looked like the install was 100% successful, but when I went to make a change to one of the settings I got dropped out of the backend with the "Forbidden - You don't have permission to access on this server" message, I re-installed v2.0.15 and now like Yann Anderson I can't go pass Step 5 and am seeing the same screen.

I was able to exit and finish the update using the Maintenance and Migrators options in the backend, everything works ok in the easysocial menus, except the settings menu ... if I try and change then save anything in there I get dropped out of the backend with the "Forbidden" message.

This would be a problem, but it turns out the Import and Export buttons still work so I was able to export out my settings make a change to the setting I'd been trying to change and then import the settings back in.

One final thing I tried changing one of the administrator accounts so it could make changes to the ES settings menu, but the same thing happens to that account as well.

Sorry I can't give you access to my site

Hello Cathy,

When you are hitting these errors, it is most likely that your hosting provider is preventing you due to certain security rules implemented by your hosting company.

I believe there is some security rule that prevented the save but it's best that you consult with your hosting provider to get the details of the exact errors.

I reported the freezing at Step Five and the Forbidden error message if you try changing any of the EasySocial settings to my hosting provider ... the problem isn't being caused by them, but we have tracked down the program that is causing it, its

RSFirewall

I setup an exception for Easysocial in the firewall using these instructions

https://www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/rsfirewall-user-guide/frequently-asked-questions/rsfirewall-interferes-with-a-component-im-using.html

That has now fixed the freezing at Step Five of the install, but I'm still getting a Forbidden error message if I try altering any of the settings so there is obviously something else that needs to be changed in RSFirewall, but at this stage I have no idea what, I'm going to be shutting down my computer shortly as we have really bad weather here and possible power cuts and I don't want to be logged on if that happens.

I'm guessing tho I will have to put in a problem report to RSJoomla once the weather clears up.

Thanks for getting back to us, do you mean if you temporary disabled this "RSFirewall" plugin or add the exception for Easysocial component, that installation is work fine?

If that is the thing, it would be best if you can consult with this 3rd party plugin development regarding this.

RSFirewall is the site security so no way am I switching it off even temporarily, and while adding an exception has allowed me to finally finish the install, I still can't make changes to the settings menu without getting a code 403 forbidden message ... am still taking to my hosting company about that to be absolutely certain its not them before I report a problem to RSJoomla.

Final update from me, my hosting company continued to keep looking and it turns out they are responsible for the problem with the settings menu.

Once they "disabled a false positive mod_security rule" I was able to start making changes in the settings menu.
