Hello,

Since the last ES update, the field to enter in copy text for an announcement has disappeared. You can still add a title but there isn't anywhere to enter copy text.

Thanks
Hm, can you temporarily turn off JCH and also disable cloudfront so that I can see what the errors are all about? http://take.ms/oLoeD

Hi,

It appears to be JCH_Optimize related as disabling the plugin resolved the issue. That being said, this has never been an issue before so is there anyway to resolve it ?

Thanks

Honestly, i am bit lost here actually. What did you meant by never been an issues? You have stated that disabling JCH_Optimize did resolve this issues.

Please advice

Hi there,

What I mean is that JCH has always been enabled on my site for quite some time without any issues but since the latest ES update, this bug has occurred.

Thanks

Hello Fidel,

Since you have also upgraded to Joomla 3.7.1 and there are huge changes in TINYMCE on 3.7.1, there is a possibility that JCH isn't playing well but to be honest I have no idea because those compressed codes are not something that I could read

The best way is for you to check with the guys at JCH.

Since the ES and ED updates it appears that there may also be some other JS related issues on the site that are unrelated to JCH optimize . My news sliders are no longer working on most of my pages and the tech support for that extension is telling me that I have JS issues.

Kindly please disable JCH Optimize as well as cloudflare and provide us to the link of the page that is broken.

I have JCH disabled now sir. I have also contacted the JCH team for further assistance and the minitek team for assistance with the news slider because of the JS conflicts

Hm, what issues are you having with the link that you shared? I believe you are getting this error because there has been some template overrides for this layout. It seems to be rendering a wrong HTML output (from an older version)

The error is that when JCH is turned on, the form to enter a message disappears completely and the user can only enter in a title. To the best of my knowledge I do not have any overrides for group announcements but you would probably know better lol. What should I do so that I can continue to use JCH?

Hi there,

Honestly, we dont have any idea why it behaving like this, as i suspected that your server has caches these items http://take.ms/3n3rf and it kept rendering those cache items on your site. Once i changed ' Joomla's Default Editor' on your Backend>Systems>Global Configurations to "TinyMCE", as shown http://take.ms/QZf7r.

Those description fields renders correctly as shown http://take.ms/A2sSy. Maybe you try to clear your server cache first and see how it goes

Please advice.

Note:
Maybe you can user 'TinyMCE' first until everything is working as it should.

Hi again, did the tiny mce trick work with JCH turned on? I am testing it now on multiple browsers and it still doesn't appear to be working with JCH turned on

Hi there,

It seems that it is showing correctly on my end as you can see here http://take.ms/wwadl. Maybe you need to clear your browser cache and site cache first and see how it goes

Please advice.

Hello Fidel,

I believe the issue is probably related to your browser or your account. This is what I am seeing here, http://take.ms/lBn43 . Is your account configured to use JCE?
