ES Events - Still need to be able to post after event has ended!

If you haven't already RSVP'd to an event, you can't post on the timeline after it's finished.

I'm constantly getting requests from people who want too! After an event people, who may not have RSVP'ed want to add photos, send feedback, and all that good stuff... but they are blocked from the activity stream :-(

Can we have a setting to allow posting from people who haven't RSVPed, before and after the event?.. or some other way of allowing this? Thanks!

You do have a point about users who forgot to RSVP to a past event whom wants social participation in the event page. This is not really a simple addition so you should post a feature request if you have not done so.

Here's how I explained the issue there:

Currently if you try to RSVP on a past event you get...
"Sorry, but the event is over and you will no longer be able to RSVP or make any RSVP updates for this event"

This means people who want to contribute socially to the event timeline have no way of doing so.

I think this is a big issue. People want to give feedback, add photos, add video.. all that lovely stuff that is normally possible with ES.. but if they forgot to RSVP before the event, or didn't even see the event on the website before attending, then they have no way of getting involved in the social ES interactions.

Instead of the "Sorry" message could the option be "I attended" (I guess the complication then is we would want the resulting stream entry to also have past tense.. "XXX attended YYY"

I agree, we use events to post things to the people who attended the event. Sometimes people turn out to the event but are not registered to it in ES. Could be great to have the ability to join the event after its ending date.
