Hi guys, where do we enable / disable or configure moderation for ES Events (Event Creation, etc) and ES Group Events?

I tried your docs, but ran into an issue... See:
http://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/events/pending-events

see screenshot notes: http://joxi.ru/Y2L6eKeInxalOr

e.g. If a Group Admin creates a Group Event, then surely the Group Admin should be the one moderating it and not the Site Admins...?

Then.... Is there a difference between an Event and a Group Event in ES? e.g. Can I create a Group Event which is only for the specific Group?
Hi Andrew,

You can disable event by go to back end and click Component -> EasySocial -> Profil Type -> ACL
Click No to Create Event and Moderate Event Creation.

The different between group' event and user's event is :
1. Event for user means you can create event individually and invite all friends
2. Event for group means user create event for particular group only such Sara join group A, then Sara can create event in group A.

Hope this help

Thanks...

But, let's say:

If a Group Admin creates a Group Event, then surely the Group Admin should be the one moderating it and not the Site Admins...?

The different between group' event and user's event is :
1. Event for user means you can create event individually and invite all friends
2. Event for group means user create event for particular group only such Sara join group A, then Sara can create event in group A.

so:

1) Anyone can create an Event in the Community? if moderation is enabled then the site admin has to approve, etc?

2) Group Event - Any Group member can create a Group Event? Is moderation then by Group Admin / Owner or Site Admin? should be Group Admin / Owner...

Then...

Could you provide me with the links to create menu items:

1) Create Group Event
2) Create Event (User Event)

as currently the users get confused with which is which as you can not see any difference when creating it.

Group Event should have information specific or relating to Group, etc... in the New Group Event form...

Thanks...

Hi Andrew,

If you want to Create Event you can go to Joomla backend then click Menu -> Main Menu . After that you click New -> Select Box -> EasySocial -> Create Event -> Save .

As for Menu Item to create Group Event, unfortunately this menu item is not available, I will extend this issue to our developer. Im sorry for the inconvenience.

thanks, but you did not answer the rest, here it is again:

Hi Andrew,

Yes it is. If the Group Admin / Owner creates a Group Event, then surely the Group Admin / Owner should be the one moderating it and not the Site Admins.

For the second issue, yes anyone can create an Event in the Community and the moderation is depends on the profile types settings.

Lastly, for Group Event, any Group Member can create a Group Event and the moderation by Group Admin. See my screenshot . http://screencast.com/t/nNTUybpe

Okay great.

What I still do not understand is:

Let's say the Profile Group - 'ABC' has Event Creation Moderation enabled. The user who is from profile 'ABC' has a Group, and is therefore Group Owner / Admin. This user then creates a Group Event in the his/her Group. Will that Event then require site admin Moderation or not? (since he/she is in a Profile Group which has Moderation enabled)

Appreciate your help on this.

As long as the user's profile type does not permit them to publish events automatically they will be moderated by default regardless if they create an event or create an event in a group It always inherits ACL from the profile type.

Hi Andrew,

Actually it all depends on Owner/Admin. If the Owner/Admin want to have a Site Admin then, the Admin/Owner can induct someone to be Site/Admin since the Owner/Admin have the setting on their backend.

Zue, Nope, you misunderstood sorry...

Not Site Owner / Admin, but rather GroupOwner / Admin.

If the Group Owner / Admin is in a Profile Type which requires Event Creation Moderation, then I guess that the Site Admin would have to moderate.

Now, it would be much better if one could allow Group Owner / Admin to be the moderator for Events in their own Groups, rather than the Site Admin.

e.g. If I have a group and in my group people make events, then I would like to moderate those as the Group Owner, and not have these events be moderated by the Site Admin. I as Group Admin should be able to moderate my own groups events, etc...

Hi Andrew,

Sorry for the misunderstanding, actually it is default behavior for Site Administrator when you turn on the Setting for Moderate Group Creation, only Site Administrator have the privilege to approve the Event/Post etc.

Hope this help

that is confusing us even more now, sorry...

Please look at the below scenario and please explain to us exactly how this functions and what is possible.

If the Group Owner / Admin is in a Profile Type which requires Event Creation Moderation, then I guess that the Site Admin would have to moderate.

Now, it would be much better if one could allow Group Owner / Admin to be the moderator for Events in their own Groups, rather than the Site Admin.

Currently, events will be moderated as long as your profile type's ACL is configured so. Regardless if the event is created in a group or not.

Mmm, okay. However it would be way better if a Group Admin could be the moderator (as they are with group posts) for Group Events made in their own Group. Could you look into this please? Thanks Marc.
