I think, as admins, we need at least a feature to visualize profils one by one (with navigation icons for example) without enterening every time into profil and then return back to the list and enter again to see another profil. It can be on back or front end.

As for data we need to see simply the custom fields data, with the ability to filter per field, for example show only people with a location in UK, age bteween x and y, job title contain engineer ..

Actually i use Acymailing with their filters where they add an easysocial integration to access fields, it help to subscribe people on different mailing list based on criterias.

I think a part of the job is already done with the native advanced search on ES.

maybe something like the new "insert filter" way it is done in ED5 - with the option to save a filter to use this as a preselection. than very ES admin could setup his own way for visualize members stats on the backend.

Exactly and that in combination with front end access for certain Joomla user groups in combination with Payplans also
