ES and ED Ban feature

Hello there,

I was wondering 2 things.

1. Currently on my site I use ES ban as enabled and ED ban as disabled. If I enable ban feature in ED, I will be able to ban a user only for ED forum access while user will be able to use all ES features, is that right?

2. Currently on my site ED profile was integrated with ES profile system. Can I still use ED signature feature? How?

Banning a user in EasyDiscuss does not prevent them from logging in / registering on the site. Banning the user in EasyDiscuss will ensure that the user isn't able to post on the site.


2. Currently on my site ED profile was integrated with ES profile system. Can I still use ED signature feature? How?

You can install the signature custom fields from https://stackideas.com/apps/item/48-easydiscuss-signature . This will then allow your users to insert their signature when editing their profile in EasySocial.

Hello Mark,

2. I have several Profile Types on my site and I want to assign Discuss Signature to only Member Profile Types. I think it is enough to select Member Profile Type in Access Control of Signature App, right? Do I also need to create another workflow?

Hi Zaf,

You can create a new workflow for that you always can do 'copy' if new of the workflow have similar custom field workflow as the existing http://take.ms/FMJse

If using Access Control of Apps is enough, I don't want to create a lot of workflows.

Hi Again,

Regarding ED ban, when user profile is integrated with ES, I couldn't see a way to ban a user only for forum (for ED-to be pricise, for creating a forum post) access.
Should I have to use ED profile system to be able to ban a user only for forum, or is there another way?

You still can use the ES profile system to use the ED's ban system, where the ED ban system only can be done in the forum http://take.ms/1IPTc
