I cannot upload the package file using the "Installation via the Network" because I am on a localhost (portable drive on my computer), so I downloaded the "com_easysocial_full_pro_2.0.10_joomla.zip" file and placed it in the correct directory. I finishes the first step but then I get "Sorry, there was some errors when trying to extract the queries.zip file. Please contact our support team." What am I doing wrong?
Interesting... On my live system it works perfectly! On my localhost, I check "Enable Lockdown" and "Allow Registrations During Lockdown" the sliders turn green, I click "save" and it does not save the "on" (green) position. I noticed there was an update and will try to see if that solves the issue. (very strange) But YES... that is exactly what I am looking for! Thank you so much!

I changed the post_max size to 16 in my php config and the installation worked.

The only issue I have now is it says I have one application that needs updating, but doesn't indicate which one

And also - How do I get rid of NEWSFEED, RECENT ALBUMS, LEADERBOARD and RECENT UPDATES from the community page that is accessed from [COMMUNITY] on the menu? (I just want them to sign up, or login with no additional info on the page.

Hi Rick,
For the application update, perhaps you can click on 'View apps' to see which application needs updating? If there's no apps in the page, perhaps you can trying going to the Applications>Application Store to initialize the store or Refresh directory(http://take.ms/2ybDE) and see if the issue persists.

For your second question, it short, do you mean that you want to remove the whole left sidebar? If not, can you include a screenshot of the items that you wish to remove so I can get a better idea? Thanks.

I will tried your idea, and it worked THANK YOU.

My system is telling me I need to update to 2.0.12... I have been trying to do that "from directory" with the downloaded "com_easysocial_full_pro_2.0.12_joomla.zip" (am on a localhost). It goes through the first step just fine but then on "initializing database" I get "Sorry, there was some errors when trying to extract the queries.zip file. Please contact our support team" ...I tried increasing both the post_max_size and the upload_max_filesize to 64M (file size is reporting 15,913 KB so I should be fine) My PHP version is 5.5.35, my memory limit is 128M, MySQL veriosn is 5.7.11... what am I doing wrong?

Hello Rick,

You need to choose the installation from directory and choose the zip file as you can see here, http://take.ms/ihNy0

Yes, that is the procedure I am following, but evidently I have the wrong file.
I downloaded the com_easysocial_full_pro_2.0.12_joomla.zip.
Where do I find the com_easysocial_2.0.12_component_unlimited.zip ?

As far as the second question about removing some information from the register/login screen , I have included a screen shot from my installation.

I wish to clean up the page and just give the simple choice of REGISTER or LOG ME IN
1. I'd like to remove area 1: NEWSFEED
2. I'd like to remove area 2: RECENT UPDATES
3. I'd like to remove area 3: RECENT ALBUMS
4. I'd like to remove area 4: LEADERBOARD
5. I'd like to remove area 5: secondary LOGIN/REGISTER area as it will be redundant

As far as updating... that is no longer an issue. I used Joomla's Extensions|Manage|Install and did it from here with the 2.0.12 file I had downloaded... everything is good there.

Hey Rick,
Glad to know that all is good with the update/installation.
As for your login screen, you can try enabling lockdown mode so that non-logged in users can only see the login section when trying to access any EasySocial webpage: Settings>General>General>Enable Lockdown(http://take.ms/8fDWY)
