I am getting errors on my site after installing the update to EasySocial v1.1.3 - the errors happen on the EasyBlog page. See bottom thread.

On main body - ShowCase menu: Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$video in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 418

errors on 3 of the sidebar-c modules: Strict Standards: Non-static method modEasyBlogWelcomeHelper::getReturnURL() should not be called statically in /home/chambans/public_html/modules/mod_easyblogwelcome/mod_easyblogwelcome.php on line 31

various other errors in these 3 modules.

To check for issues with the template missing, I turned on in Global Configuration > Server Settings > System > Error Reporting - set to Maximum
- I wasn't sure if this made a difference? But when I turned Error reporting from Maximum back to System Default the errors went away. So this is partially solved.

- But why are the errors there in the first place?

Template issues:

I am not sure why this is happening now. I just installed EasySocial v1.1.3 and this issue started to happen.

Every once and a while the site template disappears when a user reloads the page in the browser. The site template doesn't show. Only text and links.

Screencast: http://screencast.com/t/TdFfmrb5Fps - I could not get it to happen this time, but the screenshot below shows what happens.

The browser is the latest version of Chrome.

In this screencast the template does not appear. http://screencast.com/t/Qvaj7hVgn8 - page: http://chamberanswers.com/home/channel-filters.html

To clear up the issue a user has to go into Chrome Tools and use Clear browsing data...
Hello Randall,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I do think that this could most likely be a cache issue on the site. What you should try to do is to turn on error reporting to maximum and see if there are any errors generated.

Mark,

This is an intermittent error. I turned on System wide error reporting to Maximum and then went through the steps to repeat the issue and when it happened there was no error reported.

Not sure if I should worry much about it or not?

Hi Randall,

Strange, I just went to your site and the styling seem loaded correctly. The layout displayed correctly to me. Please see:

Is your issue now resolved?

I noticed your using Joomla 3.1.5. I don't suppose it's possible due to some other extension compatibility with your "old" version of Joomla? Also is this a browser dependent issue? From the screen shot you showed, it seems the main issue is the template css files don't load. Does this "random bad display" happen though out the site? Or on specific pages? Do you have a test site for making tests? For myself I keep a test site by my site to play around with what affects what.

I should also note that there are multiple errors on the following page (right side): http://chamberanswers.com/showcase.html

I registered for your site which the template was loading pretty well. How often does this issue come up? All these questions if answered could provide critical clues.

Thanks Josh, I haven't upgraded to Joomla 3.2 because of the serious issues of people being lcked out of their site that have been reported on Joomla forums about version 3.2. I'm waiting for availability of v3.2.1 of Joomla to be released to resolve these issues.

As far as:
I should also note that there are multiple errors on the following page (right side): http://chamberanswers.com/showcase.html

I never looked at this page after upgrading EasySocial to v1.1.3 but now the EasyBlg page throws errors on the main page and top right side login module.

Sam and Josh,

The issue of the template disappearing does not happen all the time. I usually happens to the site after I purge the cache using the NoNumbers Cavhe method of deleting the backend cache.

To Sam, this is is not resolved yet.

After upgrading my site to ES v1.1.3 there are now issues on the Showcase page that need the StackIdeas team to help resolve.
Use the site Showcase menu - open page.

Errors on Showcase page - main body:
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$width in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 418

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$height in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 418

Notice: Undefined variable: domain in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 491

Errors with helper Welcome login module on top right.
Strict Standards: Non-static method modEasyBlogWelcomeHelper::getLoginStatus() should not be called statically in /home/chambans/public_html/modules/mod_easyblogwelcome/mod_easyblogwelcome.php on line 30

Strict Standards: Non-static method modEasyBlogWelcomeHelper::getReturnURL() should not be called statically in /home/chambans/public_html/modules/mod_easyblogwelcome/mod_easyblogwelcome.php on line 31

Strict Standards: Non-static method modEasyBlogWelcomeHelper::_getMenuItemId() should not be called statically in /home/chambans/public_html/modules/mod_easyblogwelcome/mod_easyblogwelcome.php on line 35

These need to be resolved.

Thanks, Randall

I'm assuming that deleting the site cache by not using NoNumber cache will still result in the issue happening? Does this issue happen once (one time) after refreshing the cache and the next time you load the page it runs just fine? I'm assuming then that you have Joomla's cache feature enabled or some other cache feature from your host?

The issue happens even without Deleting the cache.

I removed EasyBlog 3.9. and then installed it again and the template is missing. I also get these errors on the page.

No top menus.

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$video in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 418

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$width in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 418

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$height in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 418

Notice: Undefined variable: domain in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/videos.php on line 491

===
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easyblog/classes/themes.php on line 200

Here is a screencast: http://screencast.com/t/0VwkixiVU

I am at a loss as to how to fix this.

As per the issues on the Showcase page with EasyBlog; I found out the source of the error messages.

When tuning Error reporting on in the Global Configuration - System Settings to Maximum Error Reporting the main body errors on the ShowCase (EasyBlog) page showed up, and various other errors in these 3 modules.

Shouldn't these issues in EasyBlog and the EasyBlog modules be fixed so no matter what setting for Error Reporting being used, they won't show up?
