Hi!
I need help to solve a problem that occurs after the update of EZblog from the version 3.9 to the latest version. The Joomla version is the latest (3.8) and this is a website under development, but in a few days i need to upload this restyle.

I've attached an image that shows the errors in the console.
Basically it was a website based on Joomla 2.5 and ezblog 3.9, I've updated Joomla and others plugins and i've encountered many problems doing this, the final step was to renew ezblog also because there is a problem of viewing in the ezblog backend with the version 3.9.

So today i've bought ezblog and i've updated with the full package because the website link is temporary. And i've encountered a lot of errors.

Thank you in advance!
Hey,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue? You may store your site access at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so you don't have to provide these information all the time

The website is up in a development server and i can't give you access because there are more websites in development in there, can i give you the .jpa data? So you can reproduce the problem in local.

Ok, so i'm going to do all these steps:

- set up the website with the last working backup
- update joomla and all the components
- install the latest version that is going to sobstitute the installed version of EZblog (3.9)
- apply the js setting that you've mentioned

After all this i can give you a response!

I think it's better to see the differences

http://www.studiothemis.net ----> this is the running site with all the old software

vps113772.ovh.net/themis ---> this one is the updated (the hard job, i think that there are more problems with a joomla core update compared to windows vista )

P.S. it is possible to obscure the links?

It seems like missing Easyblog latest blog post module on your development site.

I suspect you didn't update all the Easyblog module during the upgrade process is because got 1 module/plugin installation part you have to select all, perhaps you can try upload that installer again from backend installer page and see how it goes?

If the issue still persists, would you consider to temporary upload your test site to live so we can able to check on this issue directly.

There is not only a problem in home page, all the other pages reproduce the year filter (and this module doesn't exists in the active list)

Currently I can't tell you what is the exactly issue causing this yet and what is the best suggestion to provide you to solve this issue since I was unable to check on your site.

Since this Easyblog archive module not exist from your old site, then you can probably disable this module from backend.

Hope this will help.

Ok I've performed a new install of the plugin and i've selected all the modules and plugins during the configuration, but not all the modules were available, here's some attachment.
The situation is the same, the module is gone, I'm going to reconfigure all manually, Thank you for the support!

Since you are trying to upgrade your Easyblog from old version to latest version, I would suggest you tick all the module before you click NEXT button on the installation.

The reason why it show grey colour on these section is because system detected these module you already installed but that is older module which not compatible with the Easyblog latest version, I will report this to our developer regarding this and see if we can do something about it.

Hey,

Could you try to turn on error reporting in Joomla and take a look at the error messages? Also, try to view the source of the page because the error could be hidden under html codes (this is why you only see a blank page)

This is what i see in the development of chrome, maybe it's the blank line at the top of the sheet (the yellow one)?

Hm, I think there are no errors being generated on the site. Can you head over to Joomla's Global Configuration section and set error reporting to maximum?

Okay, we are getting there. I think you should rename the folder /modules/mod_latestblogs to something else. Could you try that?

Hm, the error is still there? That module mod_latestblogs is a legacy module which is no longer in use. It is now called mod_easybloglatestblogs

Did you rename mod_latestblogs already?

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

Hm that was really difficult for us to know where went wrong on your site. It would be best if you can provide us with this development site (http://vps113772.ovh.net/themis) access so we can help you solve this quickly.

By the way, since you already mentioned that you already renamed this folder /var/www/html/themis/modules/mod_latestblog to something else, can you check again whether you have template override for this module from your current template?

For example : /var/www/html/themis/templates/YourCurrentTemplate/html/mod_latestblog/..

If this folder exist, can you try temporary rename it and see how it goes.

Hey there,

I tried to access the administration area but this is all I am seeing, http://take.ms/azdQo . Can you set this user with the super administrator privilege?

Also, when you installed EasyBlog earlier, did you select all the modules that you want to be installed on the site?

Hey,

Hm, nope and I think the problem is because you are using an outdated version of the installer. When in doubt, always head over to https://stackideas.com/dashboard to download the latest version
