I have been attempting to update my Easy Blog from 3.9.24862 to 5.0.190000. Every time I try, I receive an error. It says I need to use a correct API Key. I click on the link to go to my Stack Ideas account and regenerate the API. I copy the key into my "Update API Key" box in my EasyBlog control panel. It continues to show the error message and does not complete the update. The farthest I have seen it progress is 10%. Please let me know if I am performing the update correctly, or there are issues with my account.
Hey Gregg,

Upgrading from EasyBlog 3.8.x or older to 5.x requires a full uninstall / installation. The reason is because there are some core files which were modified in this release and running the updater would actually break things.

Rest assured that your data would not get erased when you perform an uninstall. Theme files and other core files would however get erased, so if you have made any modifications, it's best to make a backup of the modifications first.
