Error when installing Easy Discuss 3.1.8872

When I try to install Easy Discuss 3.1.8872 to Joomla 2.5, I get these messages:

WARNING: Please install the latest patch 3.0.8598 (Bug: Attachments folder will be deleted if perform uninstallation prior of this patch), then only install EasyDiscuss 3.1.
COM_INSTALLER_INSTALL_ERROR

JLIB_INSTALLER_ABORT_COMP_INSTALL_CUSTOM_INSTALL_FAILURE

Please advise ...
hey bill,
there was a problem with the attachments folder in the past of easydiscuss and to make sure everything is working correctly you first need to install the named version. after that you can install the latest 3.1.
you can find this older version that needs to be installed first in the archive section at http://stackideas.com/downloads/archives/easydiscuss

This is because there is an important patch must install before upgrading to 3.1
Please install this then only proceed to install 3.1.
