Hello,

I was behind on upgrading the Easy Blog software and so I recently purchased it again. When I try to do the upgrade in Joomla I get the following message "Error Please enter the correct API key. You may generate it from http://stackideas.com/account/my-account.html ..." I go to my account settings and try to copy and paste the Key that is generated there and I still get the same error. Can you please help me resolve this. Also, I will be creating a new Joomla site that will replace my old one...can I install EasyBlog on both of the sites right now until I make the new site completely live and take the old site offline?
Hello Ryan,

I am really sorry for the confusions but upgrading from EasyBlog 3.8.x or older to 3.9.x requires a full uninstall / installation. The reason is because there are some core files which were modified in this release and running the updater would actually break things.

Rest assured that your data would not get erased when you perform an uninstall. Theme files and other core files would however get erased, so if you have made any modifications, it's best to make a backup of the modifications first.
