Error on registration

Just Upgraded from 3.7.1 to 4.0.1 on Joomla 3.9.2 site. Tried to register new user with the setting to "Block Non-Subscribers" and force them to pick a subscription. After I registered, chose the default 'Forum Access' and checked out, I received the following error:

0 Serialization of 'SimpleXMLElement' is not allowed

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to provide us with the full stack trace error on the page by turning on development mode? I tried to replicate this on your site but don't get the full stack trace of the error.

I don't understand what "development mode is"
Isn't this something you can activate since you have super admin access to my site? All I ask is that you turn it off when not being used.

Please advise.
