Error in my search mod after installing easyarticles

After installing easyarticles and on my front end, the search worked fine until I installed EA. Here is the error i get....

syntax error, unexpected '$query' (T_VARIABLE)

Let me know if you can if it is related. Thanks.
I have resolved the issue, it was a conflict with another component search plugin. Thanks....
