Hi,

When I upgraded EasySocial to the latest version (on my staging site) I get an error of "Error decoding JSON data: Syntax error" when I visit the control panel. With EasySocial uninstalled the error goes away.

The EasySocial component is not displaying correctly either, as the HTML is all messed up and it prompts me to upgrade.

I'm not sure if the problem is because I am using the staging site domain or if there is another problem. I have a valid licence and intend to get the bundle when I renew this month.

Happy New Year and thxs for any assistance you can provide,

Alan
Hi Alan,

Kindly find my response to your inquiries below:
1. When I upgraded EasySocial to the latest version (on my staging site) I get an error of "Error decoding JSON data: Syntax error" when I visit the control panel. With EasySocial uninstalled the error goes away.
The EasySocial component is not displaying correctly either, as the HTML is all messed up

Seems like I cannot access your backend as there is protected area : http://screencast.com/t/zMoR54ba
Can you please advise?
Would you mind us to re-install EasySocial and see how it goes?

2. it prompts me to upgrade

-> Perhaps you've not install the component via network? that caused the API will not automatically inject into the core file. Can you key in the API by go to (Languages>Key in your API key )

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the cooperation. But I do not see the login credential to access your backend anymore
Can you provide with it as well?
If it is possible, can you provide us with the FTP access as well, maybe we need it to do some troubleshoot if there is an error

You can add the information needed by edit your first post in the Details section or you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies

Hi Fadhi,

I have updated my credentials in my profile. I didn't know this was available.

Hi Alan,

I've troublehoot this issue and I'm hit this error:

Error decoding JSON data: Syntax error
string(93) "{"admin_style":"","admin_language":"","language":"","editor":"","helpsite":"","timezone":""i}"

where the Joomla's json string do not stored properly for the timezone. This issue is quite frequent happen as you update from Joomla 3.6.2.
I've update the json to:

{"admin_style":"","admin_language":"","language":"","editor":"","helpsite":"","timezone":""}

and the Control panel and EasySocial appear fine now.
Please have a look

It looks great now. Thanks so much for your help, especially since this ended up as not being a EasySocial problem at all. I was pretty sure it was but I was mistaken.
