I get both in frontend and backend error 500 when update easyblog to its last 2 versions.
Only rename the com_easyblog folder both in front and backend removes the white page and i can access the admin and frontend again

I see here other people have the same problem so if you found the solution to fix the error please provide updatet files.

if it helps the direct link on end of instalation "go to frontend" is working but not when i select frontpage in easyblog menu.

the error log shows this:

[Mon Apr 24 14:32:20.411908 2017] [fcgid:warn] [pid 14109] [client 164.132.161.88:32984] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/simuladocespe/public_html/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/blogs/entry/default.print.php on line 34

since this seems a general problem what others users have to i suggest target the error and provide a update so access should not be nessesary also because i have the same problem on 4 sites and 2 different server
Hello Michael,

Can you try this,

1. Rename the folder /plugins/system/easyblogcomposer to another name easyblogcomposer.backup with FTP or cpanel file manager

2. Rename the folder /plugins/user/easyblogusers to another name easyblogusers.backup with FTP or cpanel file manager

3. Download the installer from https://stackideas.com/dashboard

4. Login to your back end and install EasyBlog through Joomla extensions manager

By the way, can I know if you were upgrading from 5.0.44 or 5.1.x ?

Thanks it works now. It seems like your issue is a different issue altogether but it seems to be coming from the mod_easyblogmostpopularpost

I have applied some fixes on the module and it works fine now. There was a bug in 5.0 where the module isn't storing the layout settings correctly but we addressed this in 5.1.
