Hello,

some users complain about white pages in EasySocial. I was able to reproduce this (sometimes) with a test-account. It seems to come up, when a stream-entry of this user is deleted. Error log shows following lines:

[Sun Aug 16 21:06:31 2015] [error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function output() on a non-object in XXX/media/com_easysocial/apps/user/shares/helpers/albums.php on line 33, referer: https://www.burn-out-forum.de/community

Sometimes it helps, to newly set avatar. But I don't know, whether this is a random effect. Can you imagine, where this may come from?

I use p8pBB-Bridge for phpBB3-forum. I use newest versions of Joomla, bridge an EasySocial.

Regards
Samson
Hi Samson,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

We haven't touch anything on your site and not really sure how can I reproduce the issue on your site. However seeing from the error message from your initial message it seems like there might be some issue there. Can you download my attachment below and place it inside your /media/com_easysocial/apps/user/shares/helpers/ folder and see how it goes?

Hello Arlex,

I will do everything, I can do for helping you to find a solution.

  1. I added data to this post. You can see the effect at the user "SystemAccount". You have to login as this user and open Community-Stream at http://www.burn-out-forum.de/community. Then you should see white page or error 500. Other users do not have this problem.
  2. Also added to this post.
  3. This is the problem. I don't know, what causes this effect. I want to explain from the ground. First it happened, when a user changed his avatar. He got white community-stream-page (other pages of community will work) and error 500 or white page is shown. Deleting the avatar and setting a new solved the problem sometimes. Now this will not help any more for SystemAccount. Especially yesterday I mentioned, that the community-stream worked fine for user "SystemAccount". I changed avatar and it worked nicely. In backend I deleted the stream-entry, that showed, that SystemAccount changed its avatar and from this point of time the community-stream of SystemAccount is white (error 500). Stream of most other user will work.

  4. You see the entry in server error log in the first post of this topic. This is generated every time, SystemAccount (or other user with white page) wants to show community stream. But also some other users complain about this white page. They are not able to delete a stream-item.

Okay, I am very helpless with this and hope, you can find the problem. How I already explained, I use p8pBB-Bridge. I don't know, whether the application "forum" (for easySocial) my be involved. Deactivating the app will make no change. I asked for support some weeks ago, but no reaction until now.

Kind regards
Samson

Hello,

did you already change anything? Just a moment ago, a user reported, community-stream is working for him, although it didn't yesterday. For user SystemAccount it's also working. I did not change anything.

Best regards
Samson

Hi Ezrul,

I changed albums.php with your new version. At the moment everything is working fine (but had also befor). It is really strange, because I was not able to find out, what this effect causes and suddenly it worked correctly. Perhaps the problem is gone now. We will have to wait same time. I will report, how it's going on.

Thank you for your fast help. I'd love to leave this topic open, until I had some time for testing. I hope, this is okay for you.

Kind regards,
Samson

Hello,

in the meanwhile, the white page was not shown any more. So I think, your changes have made it. Thank you very much!

Your Support really is the fastest, best and most kind one, I've ever seen. It was a good decision to change from JomSocial! In my opinion, your software and support are absolutely great.

Kind regards
Samson
