HI,

I am running Joomla 3.4.1 along with Sh404 and EB5. I have a new blog post with Url in the title. The other blod posts created with EB4 or earlier dont have this in the URL.

Is there a way to remove it?

Also, is there a way to turn off the text "Powered by Easy Blog" at the bottom of the Blog page?

Thanks!
hi David Bradley,

Sorry for late reply to this,

May i know which is your current Easyblog version?

Because it should fix this issues "Powered by Easy Blog" .

Regarding with your URL question, can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

Also can you provide us which URL format you prefer? so that we can see is it possible to achieve this or not.

Hi Arlex,

This is what the dashboard says:
Software Is Up To Date
Installed Version: 5.0.5
Latest Version: 4.0

I will have to send the FTP details later, dont have them now.

My URL's were showing as:
https://www.medicore.ie/blog/general/no-pain-no-gain.html
But now: https://www.medicore.ie/blog/entry/general/no-pain-no-gain.html

Is there an easy way to remove this as it will throw up 404 errors?

Also, I notice that when I create a post it is also creating a Joomla Article with the same article text in a blank category. Is this normal?

Hi David Bradley ,

Since you haven't provide us with your Joomla backend access yet.

Can you follow my instruction to solve all this question as you described? (Yes, we will solve that latest version number in next version.)
#1. Download the latest launcher from http://stackideas.com/dashboard and install in your Joomla installer.
#2. Go to your backend > module manger > EasyBlog - Auto Article - disable (so it will not create a new post in Joomla article)
#3. Regarding with your URL format question, I have to access in your Joomla backend then only can give you the confirm answer.
Looking forward of your response.

HI Arlex,

I've upgraded to 5.0.7 and that removed the powered by text.

I found the Auto Article option in the Plugins Section rather than the module section.

Sent site login details.

I am having 1 more issue with OG:Description. I have 'Automatically Fill Meta Description' and text entered in the Meta Description, but it is still showing the scraped data from the article body. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

HI Arlex,

I have our link structure set to Category based.

The URL's are created like this: http://www.medicore.ie/blog/entry/general/no-pain-no-gain.html

Is there a way to turn off the 'entry' portion of the URL's as I am not getting a lot of 404 errors on the old URL's.

Thanks!

Hi david,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,

I have our link structure set to Category based.

The URL's are created like this: http://www.medicore.ie/blog/entry/general/no-pain-no-gain.html

Is there a way to turn off the 'entry' portion of the URL's as I am not getting a lot of 404 errors on the old URL's.

I have help you change to use 'SIMPLE' URL Format For Entry View and created hidden menu item for single category layout (General),
can i have the permission to help you purge all the Easyblog SEF url from sh404sef extension? So sh404sef can regenerate the correct url and see how it goes?

I am having 1 more issue with OG:Description. I have 'Automatically Fill Meta Description' and text entered in the Meta Description, but it is still showing the scraped data from the article body. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

I have checked one of your blog post "No Pain, No Gain...No Thanks!", it seems like the meta Description show correctly, check my screenshot below. Perhaps you referring on another blog post? If yes, can you elaborate more detail regarding this question? So that I can check on this.

Hi Arlex,

I edited the facebook.php file myself to remove the automatic generation of the Meta Desc from the article content.

Yes you can edit the settings.

Thanks!

Hi Arlex,

I think there might be a bug with EB5 routing.

I have set the EB SEO URL format to to 'Default', cleared the EB cache, purged the stored URL's and refreshed the page. The URL's that are created after this are not being created as expected or uniformly.

One article is showing the URL:

http://www.medicore.ie/general/no-pain-no-gain.html

While another is showing:

http://www.medicore.ie/blog/surviving-two-hours-of-ventricular-fibrillation.html

I need to have the url structured as follows:

http://www.medicore.ie/blog/'category'/'title' - At the moment this is not happening regardless of the URL format option selected.

Thanks

Dave.

HI Arlex,

Thanks it is working now. Can I ask why you created a hidden menu, what was the purpose of it. Just want to understand how you fixed it in case someone deleted the menu again.

Thanks.

Hi David,

Sorry for late reply to this,

Yeah, If you're reading this post thread, don't be confuse must be remove the hidden menu item, actually just depend on that person menu structure, because regarding on your case, you no need hidden menu item also can achieve you expected URL format URL, so I removed back what I add for you in previously.

To fix this, just configure on this 2 setting then it should be display this URL format http://www.medicore.ie/blog/'category'/'title'

Check my screenshot below. Hope this help.
