Hello,

I just updated to EasyBlog 5.0.16. The installation appeared to go well, however, I am now unable to access the front page of the website. The entire website is inaccessible and I get a blank page.

The website is http://www.personalmentoringservices.com

I see in the forum that a few others are encountering the same problem. Please advise.

If you need to access the back end, please let me know how to provide you this access and I will be happy to do so. I will need specific instructions.

Thank you,

Glenn

Hey Glenn,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. The reason that you are hitting errors on the front page is because of the module "BT Content Slider". It wasn't updated yet and it is causing errors

We had already released a patch for them here, http://stackideas.com/forums/fix-for-mod_bt_content_slider and I have patched your site for you.

Thank you for fixing this issue. Unfortunately, I have encountered numerous problems with EasyBlog 5.0.17. Consequently, I rolled back my website to a pre-EB5 version. I will stay with EasyBlog 3.9.24862 for now, which I have been very pleased with.

I will review re-installing EB5 in the future.

Hello Arlex,

With the BT patch, the website was once again visible. However, the BT module was rendered useless. It opened to a screen that was impossible to make and save adjustments to. Meanwhile, even with EB5.0.17, xmap sites, both html and xml, did not work. Despite settiing and re-setting, and even re-creating, these pages simply did not work. While other pages on the frontend became visible with the BT patch, both frontend xmap pages were blank. Moreover, I had to fix/restore quite a number of settings on other pages, such as re-adding side-menus. The EB archives also did not show up, despite my repeated efforts to configure it. In addition, quite a few of the EB features simply did not work. I use a JSN template and several extensions, but my website is not fancy or all that complex.

I appreciate being able to utilize EB; overall, it has made my job much easier, and your support has generally been good. Looking through these forums, however, it is evident that, as an intermediate-level Joomla user, I am not ready for EB5 - or EB5 is not ready for me. I will stick with EB 3.9.24862 for the time being.

Thank you for asking me to share my difficulties. I wish you well with EB5+ and look forward to trying it again, when more of the bugs are resolved.
