Hey,

I have a problem with uploading a video. I think it is an encoding problem. Because of the error message in the backend (see attachment ES-14).

regards,
Sorry, forgotten the attachment.

Hey Derk,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. In order for EasySocial to be able to encode / compress videos , it requires the ffmpeg binary.

You need to get the absolute path to the ffmpeg binary from your hosting company assuming that you are on a shared host.

Hey,

That's a pity because our hosting provider doesn't support ffmeg. Is there any possibility to change the necessarity of this?

Hey Derk,

Unfortunately the only way to properly encode videos is by utilizing ffmpeg Is there any reasons that your host wouldn't allow this?

Unfortunately that was no other workaround method to convert video without ffmpeg in currently.

The reason why Easysocial upload video need to required to setup this ffmpeg from your server is because when you upload a video, this ffmpeg will encoding the video and make it playable to any standard browser e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, mobile browser and etc, without this ffmpeg your video will not able to playable in different browser. And it will also resize the video size, so when the user play the video on the webpage, it will load the video on the page faster.
