After my users subscribe to a forum, they receive an email notification when a new posting is made. They are unable to follow the link from the email to the new post.

When I receive an email notice from you, the hyperlink takes me directly to the post, even if I am not logged on. In order to reply, I have to login.

I would like that setup for my site [deaconworld.net].

File [1] is a screenshot of the email a user receives
File [2] shows what my users see when the click on the "view post" hyperlink inside the email
File [3] is the url that is embedded in the "view post" hyperlink from the user's email
File [4] is an email I received from you
File [5] is the url from the "view post" hyperlink in your email
File [6] is what the user sees when the click on the "view post" hyperlink inside your email

I need my site to function the same way yours does.

When a user receives an email notification that a new post is available, they should be able to follow the hyperlink directly to the post.

I've already asked my service provider if the problem was theirs. They ran a number of tests and none of them generated any errors.

How do I configure my site so that my users go directly to the post?

Hi Mark,
The reason the link was not able to load is because the current user does not have permission to view the discussion post: http://take.ms/kKoIN
If you want to allow non-logged in users to view the discussion post or the replies under the category, you have to set the appropriate permission in those categories.

I cannot replicate your screen shot.

When I go to "categories" I do not see the same options visible in your screenshot -- most importantly there is no "edit" heading.

I've attached a screenshot.

What is my next step?

Hello Mark,

On the categories page, you will first need to click on a category to get to the Permissions tab. EasyDiscuss allows you to setup different permissions for different categories.
