Hi there! I'm needing some help with the blog comment feature. Right now I have it set to where I have to go into the plugin itself to approve comments before they get published. However, I'm noticing that I'm not being alerted via email when anyone sends a comment. Is this feature available? If so, where do I go within the settings to change this? Thank you for your help!
Hello,

Please make sure that in Backend > EasyBlog > Settings > notification > comments > notify admin on new comments to yes.

This will send notification to you if you are set as user admin.

Thanks:)

Hi there Khairul,

I appreciate your assistance. These are already set to notify me but I'm no longer being notified vie email. I have to go into the plugin itself to see what comments still need to be approved/published. Unless I go into the plugin itself and check, I have no way of being alerted if there are comments that need to be published. Are there additional settings I'm missing for this or is this not an option?

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Please make sure your cron is running. I tried this manually and it seems to be working fine. Also if you need further help please send me your backend, FTP and cPanel access. Please advice.

Thanks!

Hi there Adelene,

Not to sound ignorant but could you tell me where I could find the cron? That way I can see if it's running or not. Thanks so much!

Hello,

You could setup your cronjobs by following this documentation Link --> http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/how-tos/setting-up-cronjobs-in-cpanel
If mail was created to send it will be in your mail queue in Backend > EasyBlog > Mail Activity
Can you please provide us with the Joomla back end access as well as the FTP access so that I can check on the issues on your site? We actually need these information so that we can debug on your issues quickly.

Thanks:)

Good Morning,
Due to the sensitive nature of our business, we are unable to provide backend and/or FTP access, but hopefully someone could help point us in the right direction. We truly appreciate all the help everyone has offered us already. I see that most of the replies reference cronjobs, which is specific to Linux servers. Unfortunately, we are running Joomla! on a Windows server. There are no scheduled tasks (Windows equivalent to cronjobs) currently set up on the server, and never have been, even though the email notifications regarding new comments were previously being recieved. We have verified the "Comment Notifications" settings and also verified that all emails appearing in Mail Activity were sent out successfully. The Mail Activity section appears to show emails that were sent to subscribers regarding new blog posts, none are related to comments. Is anyone familiar with WIndows and might have some other ideas ?

Once again, we appreaciate ALL the help!

Hello,

If there are no email activity for comments then there might be some issue with it. In your case then it has nothing to do with the cron/scheduled task if the emails aren't appearing in Email Activities. Unfortunately I won't be able to identify this without any access to your site. is it possible to clone the site for us to debug? Please advice.

Thanks!
