email notifications and login redirection

Hi,

I've created an extranet with a discussion zone. The whole site is accessible only to registered users. Some of them don't have access to the discussion zone (that's on purpose).

I've noticed that when a user which has access to the discussion zone receive an email because a new discussion is created, he has to login. The problem is that he is then sent to the homepage, instead of the discussion page.

For a better user experience, I'd like to send them directly to the right discussion page just after login.

Do you know how I can solve this ?

Can you try enable this setting from backend > Easydiscuss > setting > advanced > Enable Error Redirection - YES, and see how it goes?

If the issue still persists, can you update your live site Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a check?

Hi,

I've activated the option that you mentionned, but it doesn't work. I'm still redirected to the home page when loging from a conversation notification URL.

I've updated the admin URL of my site, and the login and password seems to work fine. Do you really need the FTP access ?

If yes, can i have the permission to submit a new test discussion post so I can able to receive that email notification and see this issue?

Yes, it would be best if you can update us your site FTP access, in case we need to edit the file and troubleshoot it.

sure, that's what I mean (sorry, i'm not native )

You have the permission to create a discussion (it's a staging site). Just go there :

https://izy.polymetis.fr/discussions/ask

You can also change your email in the user settings if you want to receive it :

https://izy.polymetis.fr/administrator/index.php?option=com_users&view=user&layout=edit&id=864.

I'm going to create a FTP access for you just now.

Hey Polo,

After checked further, it seems like you already set the default login redirection from your login menu, you can check my attached screenshot below.

In order work correctly in this situation, you shouldn't set that default login redirection from your login menu.

I already help you removed it, it should work fine now.

Can you give it a check?
